<Burn Phase> of Thaurissan was established July 2010 on the server Khaz'goroth. On release of Cataclysm we moved to a new server (Nagrand) due to a lack of players, and moved again for the same reasons on the release of Dragonsoul. We're a small 10m guild that has been together in one form or another for over a year. We have forged lasting friendships and will likely be together for another several years to come, therefore we look for dedicated raiders who fit in with the guild as we look for long term members.


We look for the following in aplicants:

Attitude - We look for players with an attitude that supports raiding, we're not interested in people who aren't happy to wipe 100+ times to a progression boss. We look for players open to learning new things and those who are willing to spend the time to be properly prepared for a raid.

Punctuality - We look for players who are ontime to raids, we're not interested if you can't make our 4 raid nights 90% of the time. As a progression guild attendance and consistency are an absolute must. If you are unable to commit to our raids, PLEASE don't waste my time and dont waste your own.

Maturity - We may not be the most mature people ourselves however we are not looking for kids and we're not looking for people to troll trade/public chat to give us a bad name. We expect a certain level of respect from our players and in return you will recieve the same.

Preparation - This is an absolute MUST, when we look at a new player we look at thier gear, gems, enchants and professions, from this basic glance-over we can tell if this player has done everything in thier power to be prepared for a raid. We expect players to have thier head/shoulder enchants and general gear enchants farned, gem and reforge appropriately and have the BEST gear available to you (LFR/JP/Rep) BEFORE applying, if you cannot even prepare yourself so you look good to a guild, then we start to asume you will not come to raid fully gemmed, enchanted, with the correct consumables and so on. We also see keeping up with the latest theorycrafting information and strats for new boss encounters as part of being prepared, if you aren't willing to spend the time to keep up with this then you will fall behind and be promptly be replaced.

Commitment - We look for players who can commit to raids long term, but also players who can commit to the guild itself, you will occasionally have to sit out for something or other and unfortunately thats just part of being in a progression guild, we're not interested if you can't handle being sat for a progression boss which can take up to a couple of weeks to defeat. We're also not interested if you feel like logging off just because you're not specifically needed for a fight. it's just not okay to not bother logging in for a progression night (even if you are on sit), if you aren't logged in before raid time on raid days and you make a habbit of it, you will find yourself guildless very quickly.

Experience - We look for players who in our eyes are experienced enough to raid competitively in a progression guild, this means we look for players who are not only prepared but are alert during a fight, but also those who are receptive to new information and make it thier own within a few attempts, as a competitive progression guild we're not interested in players who take weeks to learn a single mechanic or fight. We're looking for players who learn, and learn fast.

--- Basic Requirements ---

Appropriate gear for HM Dragon Soul with the correct Gems/Enchants/Reforges. (iL 385+ equipped)

A working microphone and the willingness to use it during raids. we use ventrilo and raiders are expected to be on Ventrilo for raids.

A reliable internet connection, we expect our raiders to have 250ms (home and world) or better, raiders are expected to purchase access to a tunneling service such as lowerping if thier connection is not consistently at 250ms or better. Raiders who are often lagging will be sat and asked to purchase tunnels if they have not already done so. Raiders with a sub par connection may find themselves indefinitely on sit or even replaced until the issue is resolved.

A reliable PC capable of running the game in a raid environment, if you cannot raid with AT LEAST 30fps then you will experience framerate lag during graphically intense moments in the fight which can affect your performance or in some cases cause frequent wipes. If your computer cannot handle a raid environment please don't waste our time or your own in applying.

--- Loot ---
We handle loot via a loot council comprised of our team of officers. Loot is distributed based on recent attendance, performance, and progression needs, Meaning the loot goes to the person who will give us the most benefit out of the item in question based on how often they show up to raids, how well they do and what bosses we are progressing on or planning on progressing on in the near future.

--- Raid Times ---
We Raid 7.30pm ST - 11.30pm ST on Mondays, Wednesday, Thursdays and Sundays. ST is oceanic server time (GMT+10 DST). Alt runs and old content are usually run on Fridays and Saturdays at around the same time.
