Because I am bored, I have decided that Forge Camp Sunshine will be hosting a scavenger hunt here on Scarlet Crusade. The contest works in a unique way, and has a few rules, which I will list below. The contest will officially begin on Sunday February 19th at 4:00pm CST (Server Time) and end at 6:30pm CST (Server Time). There will also be a sizeable reward, sufficient to motivate all but the laziest of you bums. Information follows.


Rewards:

1st place: 30,000 gold

2nd place: 20,000 gold

3rd place: 10,000 gold

Contest:

I will hide nine players across the entire non-instanced World of Warcraft. (Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Northrend, Outlands)

The locations of these players will be revealed in the form of a list of clues on the day before the contest (Saturday February 18th) in the reserved second post on this forum topic.

Each hidden player will have in their possession 30 copies of a note containing one word, one of which they will reward a contestant with when Trade is opened.

These words are combined to form a specific sentence.

Once a contestant has gathered all nine words and formed the sentence, they must find me and open Trade, placing the words in the order of the sentence. (Two trades will be necessary)

My location will be denoted by the last hint on the list. (Other hidden players may be found in any order)

Upon successful completion of the sentence, depending on the contestant's speed, I will give them their reward.

Rules:

Sorry Horde, unless you have an Alliance character to participate on, you cannot take part in this contest. RACISM!

Contestants may NOT work on groups. Individuals only.

Any level contestant may participate, though those with the ability to fly will find the contest markedly easier to complete.

Forge Camp Sunshine members may participate. The only exclusions from eligibility will be myself and the nine hidden players.

In the event that two contestants find me at the same time, the first person to open Trade will get the first opportunity to present their correct sentence.

Due to the nature of this contest, I will require the help of nine other players (Level 85 only) to fill the role of the note-givers. You will not be volunteering in the strict sense, as each "volunteer" will be rewarded with 1,500 gold, the appreciation of all the participants, and one (1) ticket to rub Penseroso's beard.

Keep in mind that, while you cannot work with others to complete the scavenger hunt, you CAN make use of Mage Portals etc. to make your movement more efficient. WoW Insider recently posted an article which is useful for leveling the playing field.
