Rogue vs Aff Warlock Balanced 1v1?
|
I would like to gather every warlocks opinion on a rogue vs Warlock?
Is it really balanced or is Blizzard just rolling with the old Rock, Paper, Scissors combo? Rogue beats warlock -> Warlock beats Mage -> Mage beats Warrior, etc, etc...... Do Locks need to change specs and reforge gear to face melee, and then switch back to another talent tree to fight against ranged, or does a Affliction warlock forever remain a support class? Rogues QQ'd when Demo had it's hellfire range increased in the demo tree, that got removed quickly. It's time that Warlocks complain about how stupid a 1v1 fight between a rogue and a affliction warlock really is. Blizzard talks about balancing, but admits that 1v1 and 2v2 is unbalanced. result = no action taken. |

Rogue vs lock is the most imbalanced 1v1 in the game in my opinion.
Locks don't have much survivability on their own. They rely a lot on other classes for their own survival. Once survivability isn't a problem(with healers or peels), locks become one of the strongest classes. |

It is very very old problem. I remember that days when rogues didn't have cloak of shadows. They were easy target for locks...
But wait a bit and you will see lots of comment how bad you are if you can't kill a rogue as a warlock, because they can kill tons of rogues on BG every day :) But for the truth you have no chance. In any spec. 1 vs 1 |

1v1 is just not balanced, period. It's just not with lock vs rogue. Yes, my lock dies from rogues, warriors, ferals, dks that know what they are doing.
But so again, 1v1 hunter vs lock is also on locks favor. lets just accept this. |

1v1, I can manage with 50% of rogues. But I rarely have the fortune of being 1v1 a rogue, usually 1v1 a rogue and something else, doesn't matter, I'll be cc chained until i die.

I have to disagree with this. Unless you're facing undergeared, brainless rogues or catch them with vanish, cloak of shadows and prep on cooldown, a rogue will eat a warlock in a 1v1. I've faced locks in duels and BG's. And I've never had trouble with one in a 1v1. |

A decent rogue will always beat you as a lock of any spec 1v1. Hell, they can sometimes beat you 2 or 3 v 1. Their recuperation heals for more than your full stack of dots do, they can become immune to your dots, they can remove your dots, and they can close any gap you create.
Basically a lock is screwed vs any melee other than a retribution paladin. |
It is very very old problem. I remember that days when rogues didn't have cloak of shadows. They were easy target for locks... not true play as destro chain stuns , snares, and teleports keep Netherward up very good rogues will still kill you but its effective against most of them, especially if theyre playing assassin. |

I hate PvP on my lock, but its my favorite raiding toon, but I'm probably gonna try it out again with the new one I'm leveling on a different server.
But I must say, Locks, Hunters, and if they aren't playing perfect Mages are at a crazy disadvantage to my rogue. The last lock I faced in an Arena was actually really good, kited me fairly well, and did everything he possibly could do to get away and kill me, but had absolutely no chance, it took a couple minutes but eventually he was dead on the ground. Rogues> range in general. |

The strategy to beating a rogue is to make them bust as many cooldowns as possible while using as little of yours as you can. Believe it or not their opening stunlock thing? does not actually do that much damage unless they dance in it. So don't trinket it, unless it's a 5-6 second kidney.

I don't know what rogues you've been facing. I never had trouble with locks in any specs in a duel. Arena is a different story. Rogues completely dominate locks in 1v1. Affliction locks literally stands no chance against rogue. Demology, I don't see much of these around, but it's a simple vanish their meta and wait it out. Destruction being the spec that has the greatest chance, still has little success. Shadowfury is predictable and you can usually trade a gouge or kidney shot for it and it's practically game over. Succubus will put your fears on DR and after that it's a one way battle. I run double dps in arena, and I must say, locks are the one class with a healer I've yet to beat. Fights can take 5-10 mins, but I always end up losing in the end. |
