Ret:spec a point in Sanctity of Battle or not
|
|
I am PvE Ret pally but occasionally I switch gear and swap few points for arena/pvp bg.
Everytime I spec, I always hestiate and ask whether or not if this is useful. The talent is allow haste effect to reduce cooldown of CS and DS. I haven't done any calculation but I don't notice much of a reduction in cooldown whenever I spec in this talent. Any idea or thoughts would be appreciated. |

PvE, yes.
PvP, probably not. You could use it in arenas if you have a partner with a haste buff, but it's better spent elsewhere. |
|
I have it specced for PvP along with Divine Storm in Arenas :( Snake Trap? Heal all my teammates for 20k-25k. Mirror Images? Heal all three of us for 15k-18k. Do I need that CLOSE last CS to give my partner a 3 HoPo WoG? Bam, saved him in the nick of time!
But that's just me... being lazy and not speccing out of it. It was mainly for my BG spec, lol. |

Running 2-piece T-13, your holy power generation must be sky high. SoB knocks a little bit of time off the CD for CS, increasing your holy power generation, albeit slightly. I'd prefer to put a point into it than wasting it on a second talent in acts of sacrifice.

I prefer it because on the off-chance that I do have 100% up time on something I can use crusader strike that little bit more often. Every millisecond counts in PvP. The more WoG / TV's I can throw out the better.

The amount of time shaved off your CS is so negligible you can hardly say it does anything at all. Unless you're going for haste gear, it's a complete waste. Better to use that one point decreasing the time off utility cooldowns like HoF and HoS imo.

Yeah because 15% more holy power generation for one talent point is negligible. This guy is really out of control. |

Not sure what Sanctity of Battle has to do with Guardian's Favor. Oh wait, nothing. Id say if theres any talents to spare for SoB it would be guardians favor, but for pvp im with you on this one i prefer the 3min hop |

I take Sanctity of Battle because I take Judgements of the Pure. I am getting a haste bonus with that mana regen, so I might as well take advantage of it. I also don't see a reason to use one without the other.
I would rather take JofP than Protector of the Innocent because no matter how slight the increase is, it still gets me my next CS sooner. I can't count how many times I got in a CS killing blow just before a heal was cast or stun was up. PotI doesn't do that. Additionally, I don't usually have to heal both me and a partner at the same time, and when I do, I have other methods of survival (bubble, sacred shield, etc.), so PotI will usually go to waste. I also don't respec when I go PvE. The current spec gives me enough of both PvE and PvP abilities to be effective in both. If I really really need to boost my DPS for a PvE fight, then I'll switch my two points out of Last Word and put them into Blazing Light. |
