On my fire Mage if a rogue hits me from stealth its usually all over.

Garrote, Hemo, Hemo, Kidney, <I trinket/blink, then cast something at them> Trinket/Cloak, Shadowdance, Shadowstep, <if casting something its kicked> Ambush, Ambush, Ambush

Blizz says they don't balance 1v1 so I guess you have to use your sixth sense when you are out alone at night and a hard counter that can stealth specifically picked you as a target because you are easy pickings attacks you.

rogues are balancaed....(sarcasm)

One of our upcoming goals in Mists of Pandaria is to make the gap between the overall DPS/healing of both PvE and PvP items smaller. In fact, we have design plans for new PvP combat mechanics that will make PvP gear and weapons markedly better in PvP than equivalent level PvE gear and weapons. The overall goal is to reduce the barrier for crossing between PvE and PvP (and vice versa), as well as to also ensure that PvP gear is the best in PvP, and PvE gear is the best in PvE. More details on these upcoming changes will be posted as they become available.

Not sure what you mean by new pvp mechanics, but i assume the talent trees change is part of an attempt to help fix pvp. First id like to say despite the wave of crying balance is not that bad imo, things like minor buffs to arms warrs and rdruids, possible minor nerfs to rogues in pve gear and mages, are the only valid arguments i can relate too.
If changing the talent trees is a direct result of pvp balance, i dont think this is the solution, there will always be qq threads. Currently spec-ing into a tree gives a feeling of commitment, im not a fan of this MOP talent change, id even say the talents as they are, are like the spine of the game. Maybe im old fashion i can agree some change is good but not always. With that said please do not cater to these cry babies, the game is as interesting to me as it was in vanilla now and I can appreciate the game even more today. Continue what youre doing and aim for esport quality balance.

Also Ive been suggesting for a 1v1 arena bracket, and would like to know what is so taboo about 1v1 and why balancing around it would not work?

Probably cause the glaring imbalances in the game would be magnified even more....

figures a rogue would say balance is not that bad ....rogues are the Death knights when they were released on lich king they have everything including healing now just vanish and recup till 100% while spamming sap on target to prevent mounting or eating/drinking sounds balanced to me. or sit on a target till it dies also im sure there's been vids of rogues who are awful facerolling alot of people in bgs or arena and im sure alot of people seen rogues who make soooo many mistakes and still win easily while other classes makes 1 or 2 mistakes and its over. basicly when play against a good rogue chances of winning is prety much slim to none. only reason hunters are getting healing ability is cause they dont have much to defend them self with feigh death /detterence lol? its a joke compare to rogues ..boomkins barskins and hots maybe even with barskin boomkins dont stand a chance even when kitting.
the only one that would say rogues are balanced is rogues...
even blizz admitted they gave mages too much hopefully they will realize rogues have too much also

As you already mentioned, in the upcoming patch there is a change to Vial of Shadows that should reduce some of the burst damage you are experiencing in PvP.

Dying in openers certainly isn't fun, and can be incredibly frustrating if you're the one on the receiving end of such a coordinated attack, but don't give up! In addition to perhaps taking some time to focus on other activities such as Rated and unrated Battlegrounds where you have more people to watch your back, you might also consider browsing some PvP videos from other members of the community to not only help inspire you, but to also arm you with a further arsenal of tactics that you can use to your own advantage against opposing teams.

Also, from my own experience, when I was having a lot of trouble against a certain class or spec that I felt countered my usual tactics, I found it helpful to sometimes grab a friend that played that class and spent some time dueling them so that they could critique me on areas where I could improve my skills, including my timing on using certain abilities, and how I could counter some of their own tactics. That way when I stepped back into arenas, I was more confident in my own skills and felt better-prepared for how to expose the weaknesses of my enemies.

Keep at it, and remember there are players out there equally as scared to see you step out onto the Arena floor. :)

unrealistic burst is a L2P issue guys.

if so many ppl are having an issue leanring to play. mayne u guys should reconsider skirmishes?

O I THOUGHT NOT!

real fix plz

People died and people cried, thus the story of pvp. I see pve'rs put in massive hours to down bosses...

When are you scrubs gonna put in the massive hours to down opponents.

Pve'rs have heart... Pvp'rs cry a hell of a lot.
This is the way blizzard sees it. They see a bunch of crying little !@#$%es having a fat cry about being crap. Stop blaming everything on a trinket and take a long hard look in the mirror and say
"Is this who I really want to be? The kid QQ'ing on forums? or am I gonna get out there and make a name for myself?"

K.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or not, because what you typed doesn't make any sense. You say you're old-fashioned and dislike change, even going on to say how much you enjoyed vanilla, but you like the way current talent trees force you to commit? The talent trees have only been like this in Cata. Are you forgetting 3-minute mages, reckonbombers, shockadins, SL/SL 'locks, Shadowfrost DKs, and 44/2/25 rogues? They were popular (and in a few cases the best for their classes) specs that disappeared because of Cataclysm. Talent specs are drastically different than what they have been in the past.

1v1 arenas wouldn't work. Blizzard removed titles and mounts from 2v2 for a reason. They already have enough trouble balancing arenas as it is. Mages and rogues completely hard counter many classes in the game 1v1, which will force about half of the classes in the game to queue dodge. RNG has never been the answer to balance.

if blizzard can balance 2v2 and get glad back then maybe its ok to start suggestion 1v1 but cata is soo inbalanced atm but its not surprising a rogue is asking for 1v1 with the unfair advantage they have just vanish peoples burst and sit and heal then re open repeat
would be nice to see a blue post again soon

Was this game just created yesterday? why so long to balance an obvious issue, maybe Bliz needs to up the sub fee so they can afford to fix these problems in a timely manner /s
