Topic Downloading from 64-bit client

I got the "reconfiguring game files" error in which the launcher stalls out at 5%. After finding no viable resolution, I decided to install the 64-bit client when I got home from work. This allowed me to skip the downloader and jump right in game. This does however cause a ton of lag as the game is downloaded around me.

Is this doing the same thing as the background downloader? Or should I just let the background downloader run by itself?

Its usually a good idea to just allow your game to completely download before playing, keep in mind that the 64 bit client is new so issues are not unusual.

How do I begin letting it download without being logged in?

Run the launcher, and the game will download.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't have a launcher.

The WoW-64 Bit Shortcut just launches straight into WoW, no launcher.

I'm at 98% now so it no longer matters I guess, I just couldn't find any other way to download other than being in game.

Necrachilles,

You shouldn't be running from the wow.exe files. Run the launcher and select the client from inside there. You either turn on or off the 32 bit client in the options. If it's off, it uses the 64 bit client.

I don't have the option to turn off launch in 32 bit mode. I must have downloaded this wrong.

I can play 64 bit, it's just as I said launching from the WoW.exe.

Where should I have extracted the WoW-64 Bit file to? Somewhere in the 32 bit folder?

Edit:

A 64-bit client is once again available for use with Patch 4.3.2. Before being able to launch WoW in 64-bit mode you will need to download the 64-bit client for PC/Mac (using one of the links below), and unzip it into your World of Warcraft directory.

Okay so I just fail at reading. That's probably my problem.
