How about some help and info to those that are not getting this error, repair says game is fine, but am still stuck at reconfiguration, it doesn't go past 5%.

Go into the World of Warcraft folder > delete the launcher.exe > run the repair tool found in the World of Warcraft folder. Once the repair is done, run the launcher as admin by right clicking on the WoW icon and selecting "Run as admin".

This worked for me, at least for the launcher to start optimizing and stop telling me that i have to use the repair option.. lets see if it finishes the optimization (fingers crossed)

EDIT: worked perfectly, the game optimized and updated in about hal an hour.

I just did that. IT DID NOT WORK. Seriously considering re-downloading/installing WoW. ugh

Same here. Closed it and now it's stuck at 5% and says Reconfiguring game files. Please wait.

i have Kaspersky i was also having this issue, i just disabled my protection and now the optimizer is running fine. Wifes comp same thing only mcafee gave me a popup to allow the updater to access the internet.

I found a solution.

I reinstalled the entire game. Everything works great now.

That's good to know. Did you use the Cata installer DVD or download from the website?

Check your G-diffuser system!

I downloaded the client directly from battle.net and installed it to a different location. My previous World of Warcraft folder was on my desktop and I installed the new one to the default location on Windows 7 - Program Files (x86).

T.T Pleaseee don't tell me i'm going to have re-install.
