Currently working on a webpage for my guild. was wondering if anyone wanted to post theirs in order to help give ideas. If not that was wondering what some good guildbuilding webpages are.

People love posting their guild sites, from what I've seen.
I can't complain, I'm no different: http://steelbound.wowstead.com Since the merger with Curse, sometimes WoWstead is a little annoying to deal with. But they've added some features that I really like, too, and I've had the account there since my guild started, so I drag my feet about looking for something else. |

Guildlaunch, WoWstead, Enjin and Guildzilla are the most frequently seen and all are fairly easy to use. I believe most of them offer a free service as well as paid hosting. We chose Guildlaunch for ease of use and price (I don't much care for adds being all over my site, so I pay for it). |

Well just started the page up.

I use the front page for guild news, both for ourselves and the guild members. I post lots of pictures... created a link right to our world of log reports to make it easy for members to see the logs. It's still a work in progress but I like it. |

I built mine off of Wordpress using Simple:Press for our forums, and a premium form builder for the guild app.

I love Enjin, they've treated us very well. |

Built ours using Drupal 7 and made a custom theme using Zen. Hosting it on my personal webserver. In most cases you can use one of the many free guild website serves that are out there. But if you want a more personal touch you cannot go wrong with using a full CMS powered website. I know Wordpress and Drupal tend to work fairly well. I'm not too sure on Joomla though. |

Personally, I just started this guild and have been working on a website as well. I picked up Enjin on the advice of a blogger and guild master. Really enjoying its customization options.
http://reality-check.enjin.com/ It's a bit to absorb in one sitting, but I enjoy it. I've decided to pay the Advanced plan and it's only $8.95 and comes with a 10 slot Mumble server. A huge plus if you don't already have a Vent or other voice server. It's upgradable and better on lag than Vent. |

Oh one other piece of advise is that your website needs to have features that are appropriate for your guild size and personality. A small social guild doesn't need 10 separate forums, raid calender sign up sheets, and an internal messaging system. That's just plain silly for that type of guild.
This is something that I've encountered when building another website for my horde guild. I realized that they don't need a large forum, guild roster, application form, or guild calender. They can get by with just a simple blog style website with posts featuring strats and class advise without all that extra stuff. Don't just toss in every feature under the sun just because it's "cool". Really ask yourself, "Will we really use this on a regular basis?". |

Tailor your home page to what your guild represents the most; whether it be PVP, Casual Raiding, Hardcore Raiding or just casual dungeons/leveling/etc.
The first page on your website is that you have to grab attention and get across important messages to future members and the existing members of the guild! http://www.fadedchaos.com |

We use enjin. Overall its a great service, but some of the things it does is kinda counter intuitive because its system is built to handle a plethora of games compared to Wowstead which is built specifically for WoW but we left Wowstead because it just became a hassle and the service unreliable, but I would assume in the year + since we left its probably better (I hope). Some things I would suggest as a general rule for any guild. 1.) Guild information is the utmost important thing you NEED to have for any guild. I'm talking listing officers, guild rules (probably the most important of anything), and other such information. We've got a lot of info on our site, but I feel its helped us be successful. 2.) Community building is key. While you'll probably never get all your guildies to your site on a regular basis, I've found that the ones you can get to participate in simple stuff like chatrooms are the ones that end up becoming core, dependable members. One trick that I think has worked wonders is to merge your chatroom with your forum. It can be a little busy, but its paid off in getting people to the website and staying on the website. Other things are random polls, guild member of the month, etc. |
