Riddle Me This: Warcraft Lore Edition

Thought I'd give this a try.

I did stand at the side of the light of light,
For millennia did I step in to do what was right.

When evils of old attempted to break free,
Did I watch in horror as I relived eternity.

Twilight approached and the world did bend,
Only for me to take my children to oblivion.
Who was I to suffer this sad end?

Nope! It's Algalon the Observer.

Rats! o:

Two pillars of power amid eastern lands,
Two masterminds plotting and spewing demands,
One in the west looking out to the east,
The other concerned more with his savage beasts.

Both of great power but still fully sane,
Who are we then, and why all this strain?

The towers of Azora and Ilgalar?

We have a winner! Though technically, the answer was Theocritus and Morganth, the two sorcerers in their two respective towers: Azora and Ilgalar, but this is definitely an acceptable answer too.

As mentioned before, the "two pillars" were quite literal: the towers. The two masterminds are Theocritus and Morganth, the archmagus and warlock that control these two towers. Theocritus aims to spy on Morganth with a magical eye artifact, hence "looking east." Meanwhile, Morganth is not particularly interested in Theocritus. He's more concerned with amassing his army of gnolls (savage beasts) to lay waste to Redridge and then move into Elwynn. And last but not least, Morganth has uncovered a book of the dark arts that he cannot yet open but may figure out a way to if the book remains in his posession, which is why Theocritus spies on him, thus providing "all this strain."

Couldn't reply sooner, unfortunately, but now that I'm here, here's the next one...

Ordered, alas, to a futile pursuit,
Had I only known it would bear such ill fruit,
Unchained again to the slaughter and gore,
Leading somehow to a brother in war.

Now he is lost, as am I in a way,
Who am I, tell me, as I fall astray...

Wild guess, Thassarian? This one's a cryptic one.

Wild guess, Thassarian? This one's a cryptic one.

Apparently, not cryptic enough...

But aye, Thassarian it is. First ordered north along with Arthas, he was killed and raised as a death knight in Northrend. Then, as a death knight, he was unleashed upon Quel'thalas where he encountered Koltira and made an unlikely friend in undeath. Now Koltira is lost physically (taken by Sylvanas) while Thassarian is lost in his loyalties, his purpose, etc.

Hope this next one will be tougher.

Oh, all the horrors that I had seen then,
Corruption and war and demise of great men,
Prepared I was not as back home I returned,
For everything lost, all forgotten and burned...

Life ended for me, yet I still walk this glen,
Who am I now and who was I back then?

This is probably going to be easy, but I'm bored and feel like giving this a whirl, so here's what I got...

I clashed with my own kind, though this was not new to me
still, there was an argument over another tree.
Of that battle, and another, I had won
Though I'd lost much more in the second one
I had to stand there and watch him die
Tell me now, who am I?

Correct.

Mor'Ladim is the undead incarnation of Morgan Ladimore.
He witnessed the dissolution of the Knights of the Silver Hand, the demise of paladins and the war in the north in general. He returned home to find his family dead and his house burned down. Upon seeing his family's graves, he killed several people, then killed himself, but since he didn't pass away in peace, he rose soon after as an undead aberration and wandered Raven Hill cemetery ever since.

New day, new riddle.

A threat to the living throughout all the lands,
I led to a power to wield in one's hands,
An army of warriors devout I led forth,
And always it seems I was drawn to the north.

Thwarted, alas, yet immune to death's call,
Divine who I am and your doom may forestall.
