How about those who recieve gold for signing a new guild charter (I.E. 100g) is this allowed?

Guild sigs are going for 100G nowadays? There have been many challengers who have accepted a fee for their signature. I can only speak for myself when I say I view this as skirting very close and right up to the line of violating the "no outside help" rule. In instances like this, I play it very conservatively. There is nothing that explicitly says you are not allowed to accept gold for a guild sig. So, this is one of those areas where each challenger will have to answer to their own standard of how they are applying the letter and spirit of the challenge. There are plenty of other ways to get gold. I'm just sayin'.... <edit, 3/21/2012> One thing I forgot to mention is the prohibition against guilds unless they are specific to the ironman challenge. See rule #10. 10. No guilds. An exception is made for Ironman guilds (no perks) This alone would make me think that joining a non-ironman guild to get the signature fee and then immediately dropping when the guild forms is a no-no. But, I still stand by my statement that "gold for a guild sig" is something each challenger will have to decide for themselves if it goes against the letter and spirit of the challenge. |

my question is player interference seen a couple of posts on the buff issue just to click it off and not rock it but what about death if i started a toon 2 do this no way i could stop an 85 from swatting at me it does happen there idiots out there
|
my question is player interference... Being able to concentrate on the challenge and not have to worry about being ganked is why most of the challengers are doing this on PvE servers. There are a few that are on PvP servers for that extra added "excitement," but they know what they are getting into. In fact, there is a challenge going on in The Venture Co server with a large gold prize for the first to reach 85. You can read about that challenge here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4081811035 Any death, regardless of the reason, that shows up in your stat page disqualifies you from the challenge. We've lost many challengers to the usual stuff: bad pulls, bad luck, bad falls, and yes, bad gankers. As for the drive by buffs, just click them off them move on. Buffs that are part of a quest are OK. There are some zones that give an automatic buff that you cannot click off. These are OK, too. |

If it was listed already i didnt see the answer but. If you buy bags off of the ah that are uncommon or higher in quality do they count as gear? Do bags have any bearing on if your char can quallify for the challenge or not? Also what are the rules on items on the ah?
|
All bags are allowed... if you can afford it. That's the problem because if you follow all the other Challenge rules, you're not going to have much $. Remeber, no xfer of $ or goods of any kind from another character, yours or others. The challenge toon has to earn every copper of that bag cost himself/herself. |
Additionally to what Aber said, be sure to keep a close eye on your faction reputation. At Revered, 16-slot bags become available for very reasonable prices. You can buy anything you want from the AH. Just be sure these items are ones allowed by the challenge. If you see grey or white gear that you may be able to use a few levels, and you can afford it, by all means snap it up. But never pass up buying training to buy gear instead. Keep your training as updated as possible, which will do more to aid your character than gear. |
An additional note... When Darkmoon Faire is running, I believe it is possible to get a 16-slot bag there, for a single daily completion token. Travel costs to and from ... as well as the cost of "admission" are, of course, up to you, but that seems a much cheaper price than retail, or even some AH "sales". |

Actually this isnt the case, at least for me (Ironlight is my character), I have a ton of gold already because I choose the highest value quest rewards even tho I just vendor them. Of course its not as much as if I was playing fully but its more then enough to get nice bags. |

I have a question about a quest - there is a quest in Westfall given by the Draenei Shaman that requires you to enter the Deadmines Instance to fulfill the quest, but not do the dungeon. It's the one where you go into the spirit world and see the death of Van Cleef and then his daughter comes out and starts crying. Will that count against the challenge because I entered the dungeon?

What about DOTing Valgard attackers in Howling Fjord while the guards finish them off? I got a lot of xp but no killing blows for levels 70 to 72, and now I have a yellow exclamation mark on my name.
|
That is a no no. Having guards doing your fighting is considered getting help. The website looks at the ration of kills to killing blows. It is pretty liberal. you must do at least 90% of the killing blows or you get flagged. |

I was curious on what that measurement was exactly as well. Thanks Notso!

So I don't know if this has been asked yet, but is it ok to equip a tabard that gives rep bonuses (i.e. the stormwind tabard)? Doesn't technically give any bonuses that would assist in XP gaining and I wanted it for the looks. Thanks.

Doesn't technically give any bonuses that would assist in XP gaining and I wanted it for the looks. Thanks. Faction tabards are ok as long as they don't provide a combat advantage or an exp bonus. those rep bonuses only work in dungeons anyway I believe. Is drinking the Noggenfogger Elixir from Tanaris really a breaking of the rules. It is white and only change you into a skeleton? Although you point out correctly that it provides no combat advantage, I believe it still counts as an elixir consumed. I would avoid it based just on that. This way you can avoid any debate that might arise when you hit 85 :) |

I've recently got my Ironman Challenger, Couraga on Bloodhoof, up to level 55, and have had no luck finding a better weapon for her to use. I'm currently using the BKP "42" Ultra, a gun, and it's high time I found another. Any suggestions as to where I can find one? Or must I wait 'til I hit Outlands? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Try this ^^ link. Page #1, post #10 starts a Alliance side list of all the vendors who carry grey and white gear. It breaks them down by type, i.e. "cloth armor", "weapon merchants", etc., ... its location (city) and a wowhead link to see what it is. You'll have to do some "homework" checking things to find exactly what you're looking for, but it's better than nothing. Hope that helps. |
