Any comments on how Beta Warlocks are shaping up, oh great and powerful Aff?

I haven't looked too much into beta, from what I hear warlocks are going to be very powerful in MoP. The rotation for aff looks fun too and the doom glyph is godly.

The super pet talent looks great, and it seems all pets do about the same damage so it's all situational now.

It has been quite some time since I've been in the raiding scene, and never so with my Warlock... so I would like to talk gems and hit capping. What do you recommend? I'm currently working on getting my T12.
Also, everyone I've talked to says I need to switch to affliction. I made it my second spec and glyphed and everything, but when I test it out it looks as if I lose 2k DPS from my demo spec. It could just be I'm doing it wrong because I'm not used to it. What specs do you suggest? |

Try this Haunt is the most important thing to keep up Then Doom or Agony depending on the situation Corruption and UA are next on the priority. Drain soul when you're in execute range (I like to weave in Soulfire when I can, just cause, and it's something to waste Soul Shards on when you're not aoeing) Shadowflame Then Shadow Bolt. You want to keep shadow bolt/haunt's debuff on highest stack as possible and as much as you can when you AOE shazz down) Speaking of which on AOE Soul burn Seed of Corruption and shadowflame a lot more. Soul swap on weak trash packs when the mobs won't be around awhile(You SHOULD refresh them, but really in heroics who cares) Essentially, Felhunter is your pet. Stat priorities: Int>Hit(To Cap)>Haste> Crit>MasterySorry if this is slightly wrong, I'm working of memory and if it's too hand holdy. I don't know where you feel your dps is at a drop but I'm assuming it's when you're aoeing. |

I'm currently working on getting my T12. At this time all 3 warlock specs are very close to eachother in terms of dps, specific fights favor 1 spec over another. I like to keep an affliction and demonology spec for overall raid utility, I only have a destro spec because I wanted to pile up some more WoL ranks. You want to be as close to 1742 hit as possible, some people may argue but I found there is no dps loss overall on a boss fight if you are slightly under the cap, i currently run a little under. Gems you want pure int in red (brilliant), int/haste or int/mastery in yellow (haste for afflic and mastery for demo), and int/hit gems in blue sockets. Stat priority is int>hit to cap>haste>crit>mastery for affliction and int>hit to cap>mastery>haste>crit for demonology. I normally play affliction because I like the feel of the rotation better and i feel it has more adaptability during fights than the other 2 specs. As affliction the most important part to dps is timing your cooldowns and refreshing your dots at the correct times, messing either of those up will result in thousands of dps down the drain. Refrsh UA with 1 tick left, doom after it falls off line every other doom up with demon soul and any trinkets you might use, haunt will refresh corruption.
