Because when you mount it as a ground mount, its speed doesn't get slowed down while moving in water. (Not diving.)

I don't know if this is intentional but if it is, it's disgusting and I advice you to remove it as this makes a huge difference in PvP bgs such as Arathi Basin and Twin Peaks.

I'm amazed you don't have a single DK to use Frost Path in your bg.

so does path of frost and water walking... if your not using either of them, or any of the other abilities that let you walk on water, you, or the person responsible for those abilities are bad and should feel bad. BTW Turtle mounts move fast in water, NERF FOR BG!!

You guys don't see the problem do you? The problem is this mount is better than any other and if you don't use it you will have an unadvantage when you don't have a DK or a shaman right on the spot.

Turtle mounts I can live with as they don't increase movement speed on ground unless you have crusader aura or something similar.

It might be yes, but the only mount with this feature is a mount you buy with real money, which is stupid in my eyes.

Moral of the story is, if the game requires a monthly subscription, then microtransactions should always be cosmetic and shouldn't ever give an unfair advantage to someone else.

So blizzard please remove this.

Sounds like a bug. The moral of the story is not that micro transactions are bad but that you should report them so they get fixed.

Define that. Because DK's walking/ mounted running on water could be VERY unfair in PvP.

Druids being able to shift out of roots and creatively use flight form could be unfair too.

Your counterarguments are invalid towards my argument. Microtransactions shouldn't give you something more superior than what you can get ingame, and this mount clearly gives you one.

Tested this with my mount ( I bought the dragon mount yesterday) and was still moving slow though the water like all non water mounts. I was going slower then ground mount speed.

Maybe you have the usual movement speed hackers, using their cheats on mounts now. Or it is lag, some people might be bugged, but prob people using third party programs to make their mounts swim faster.

It isn't the mount causing this, as it isn't giving my characters a fast swimming speed. ( yes from on the ground and through the water, not diving in)

I've noticed lately that (regardless of what mount I am using) if I spam the jump button while swimming through the top of water, I move at normal mounted speed.

It only works if you don't have flying or you're in a nonflying zone.

The bug report forum is where you'd want to post it.

And yes, that does sound like something that should be fixed, if it is true.

If this is identified as 'working as intended' Blizzard has officially crossed into selling advantages for cash.
This is huge for some classes. Prior to them fixing the dolphin mount bug, I could easily escape if caught in the water. Drop fear, break combat, mount up and I'm gone. Now that its fixed, I'm stranded, and it's working as intended.

Currently this is the only reason I see to having this mount.

Though I believe its a bug that will get fixed.

I just tested it on my level 51 druid (has no flying whatsoever) and the golden dragon mount still went slow in the water.

I think it is a player (cheats) or bug caused. Heck could just be a bug in battlegrounds unless you have seen or tested it yourself out side of them.

I don't know. Disgustening sounds more like freaking out than reporting.

I have the HotA mount and I move slower on water than I do on land.

Maybe it only happens sometimes? Either way, if it is happening (even sparingly) it should get fixed.

How are you the authority on what is invalid and what is? I mean, doesn't that have to be somebody with a degree in arguing and officially sanctioned for this argument? Since when could a debater simply discredit someone else points as "invalid" and suddenly be the correct person?
