Before anyone tries to be "internet smart", yes, this thread would in fact be hoping to get a blue reply to it as that's the subject matter I was curious about.
So. The other night while I was puttering around doing some dailies I got to wondering, how do the blues play? You'd assume they play on anonymous accounts. But even on those counts do they flock together to do things? Do Critho and Bash and Zaryh and Daxx all que up for random dungeons? Who tanks? Who heals? Which one stands in the fire? :P lol What kind of odd things do they like to do while playing? Like how I get in a mood to just run through bunches of older dungeons solo, sometimes I actually love to farm. Do any of them do that? Who's into pets majorly, mounts? As to the players I was curious if anybody has any stories about playing with a blue. I have no idea if that ever happens outside of the events you hear about on the PTR I think it is where people que for pvp to fight against blues. Would be fun to see Critho and Zaryhm in a dungeon que sometime lol. Does that only happen on the PTR? *salute* Edit: I'd like to add an addendum onto this. Assuming a blue would actually answer, what class are they thinking of making a Pandaren in Mists? |

Well, I know Zarhym plays a Gnome Warlock, so he's not tanking...hopefully.

I'm going to bet they get along worse in a group than any of us would.
I can see the rage happen. |

Like Jane Goodall and the chimps, the Blues infiltrate the players with caution in order to study behavioral patterns and mating rituals.
Ok well probably not Mating Rituals |

They can't actually say who they are in game anyway. Policy and all that.

There's like eleventy billion Blizzard employees. It's like any other job. Some of them get along, others don't.
They play on their regular accounts like regular people and if they see in game issues they submit a regular ticket. Then the next day they come in and work their job but may or may not run dungeons or whatever on their lunch break. You may have run a random at some point with a blizzard employee, but you'd never know. I'd suspect that's how a majority of them prefer it. ETA: There's no policy where they can't tell people they work at Blizzard if they trust them. They just probably don't want to say it and have people either go, "lol okay." or "OMGGGSS CAN I HAS BETA INVITE?" |

I haven't grouped with any of my coworkers in a while. The last thing we did was roll alts and quest together on our lunch breaks once a week, but that ended around Westfall. :p
We all have very different play schedules and such with our personal lives, so we usually don't get a chance to play together unless we set aside time while at work. And even then we don't tend to put our work down for the time we set aside often enough. I've been spending some time here and there the last few weeks gearing up my goblin death knight via Dungeon Finder so he can experience Dragon Soul before Mists arrives. I've run a few Heroics with a friend (not a Blizzard employee) via Real ID when we can plan to logon within the same timeframe. That's great 'cause he tanks! But other than that I've been queuing solo. For some odd reason a part of me still gets a bit nervous when hitting that button to group with strangers. To that end I try to be extremely polite, patient, and accomodating. I let myself sort of lose track of time, focusing on enjoying the experience of the dungeon and playing to the best of my ability. Five-player dungeons have had a very special place in my heart ever since I first set foot in one during vanilla WoW -- it's just an entertaining, unique experience compared to questing out in the world. And fortunately I've had very few negative experiences with other players! And of course these people don't have a clue I'm a Blizzard employee. :) |

I don't know anything about Blizzard employees playing and I think it's better that way. I'd much rather be playing with a Blizzard employee and be ignorant to it, just being myself and hoping they enjoy gaming with me as much I enjoy gaming with them.
It's sort of the same concept as police. When you know there's one around, everyone seems to be on their best behavior, driving carefully, etcetera. It's the undercover ones that get to see the real driver behind the wheel. |

I'd love to know I was playing with a Blue.
I generally don't go off on/disrespect/scream at my teammates (unless they really deserve it, and Blues don't strike me as being that trollish/dumb). Knowing I can group up with someone on the dev team, or who manages resources like the forums, or PR, or press releases would be nifty as hell. Not to mention, with a halfway decent 5-man group it usually only takes one slapstick moment for me to have the whole group laughing for the rest of the run. I try to make the Valor grind as fun as possible for all involved ^_^ Edit: Not to mention, finding out I was deepsing with a Blue, I wouldn't be like "OMFG GAIZ THIS DOOD HEER IS FRIKKIN ZARHYM, THE SKULL ON THE FORUMS WITHT HE THING AND YEAH BETAPL0X!!!1111!111~~~IOWUNUGVS" People like that tend to make up my rather meager ignore list. |
Hi Zarhym! I'm curious how you balance work and free time, and if you spend your free time doing things not related to gaming. Of course, I know everyone is different, but I personally find that when I enjoy a hobby immensely, and then get employment related to that hobby, I end up disliking it. You can control your hobby, but a job usually controls you. |

This just goes to prove you should always try to be nice in pugs. You really never know WHO you're playing with. I prefer to keep the Laughing Skull laughing.....
