Not in the slightest. Intellect is your primary stat, so any item with an upgrade in intellect is an upgrade for you.
Spirit is a secondary stat, useful to healer, yes; but useless to say, a mage, and that is what decides who is allowed to roll need on what. Feel free to roll need on any cloth items/rings/necklaces/trinkets/weapons that improve Intellect.
I can't remember what level it starts showing up, but it is often considered bad form for a healer to roll need on gear with +hit on it, unless no one else in the group needs it. If it doesn't have hit, it is fair game for any caster.
If you queued as a healer, it's bad form to roll on gear with Hit if a DPS wants it. That's the only loot-etiquette that applies to priests.
Oh, and also proc-on-damage trinkets, once you get to a level where they exist.
