Everything of note, save for PvE progression, is now cross-server. It makes no sense for Blizzard to incur huge migration costs and liquidate expensive equipment when your choice of server really has nothing to do with whether or not you can experience content.
In extreme cases, they'll allow realm transfers to a "dead" realm, but Jaedenar doesn't even remotely qualify. Even at our worst, following the demise of Risk, Tribune and other significant guilds midway through Serpentshrine Cavern in Burning Crusade, we've never been in a situation that would warrant a server merge. Besides, Blizzard makes $25.00 each time you change servers. The option is there, if you don't mind paying. It's a pretty brilliant business decision, as subscriptions tend to fall off in the lull before a new expansion, and realm transfers during that period are a simple way for Blizzard to supplant some of the lost revenue. In Jaedenar's case. we always have people leave for Kel'thuzad prior to a new expansion, most of them complaining about the factions getting emptier and its effect on the AH. Many of them come back as soon as new content drops. I'm sure that Blizzard looks at these trends and laughs their way to the bank. |

I believe Konoka is spot on. There's no "need" for blizz to merge servers if people are willing to pay the 25 bucks to do it themselves.
Want to be part of a high pop' server?... I suggest starting your next toon on a server other than Jadenar. However there are those among us, I being one, who could care less about learning the equation of a boss fight or killing dragons in order to find fun in the game ("content"). Bg's have always been an amalgamation of realms... hence where you're from matters little. As for the AH... I find it nothing more than the warcraft equivalent of fast food. People can easily do without it, but it's fast and easy and it helps the player to be complacent. If you don't like the prices in the AH... go farm what ya need yourself, or find a guildie/friend to make that thorium widget you need if you can't. Bottom line, if you don't like Jadenar then YOU make the change. Don't expect someone else or Blizz to make it for ya. Everything you have on this server, you can also have on any other server in the game. Be well, have fun. |

Soooo it's smarter to have a ton of near dead servers running, instead of a bunch of populated servers? Idk what business you have been running but that has to be a drain on blizz's pockets. If they arent looking to merge servers, why not open up free transfer? maybe a high pop server like Illidan gets to transfer to Jaed for free, and pessimistically 2% of illidan transfers... that would be around 1-2k people moving to Jaedenar, AND if they didnt like it they would have to pay to transfer back to illidan, how does blizz lose? they get a free $25 for no doubt a small amount of work put in, OR the people stay and a server now has more opportunities to pug, work on proffs, make monies, more reasons to log in. Which keeps people playing which gets them their $15. I have no idea why blizz doesnt do it... If people arent willing to drop the $25 to transfer, and if they have little to no reason to log in, There goes another $15.
