Blizzard, it's time.

This expansion you have a good opportunity to make right on all your negligence when it comes to Hunter's class design. It would be great if, since we have to wait and buy a whole new expansion before you'll fix obvious issues anyway, you could fix obvious quality of life issues.
1) Out of Date Aspects - Fox is worthless, Steady Shot should just be able to be casted while moving, just like Scorch. Should be a defensive aspect that grants you REAL Focus when struck by attacks, like Rage, or should offer some other defensive bonus. Fix these so losing a huge amount of AP is worth it. Cheetah, Nature, Pack - etc 2) Auto Shot - why? This makes Hunter more wonky than anything else, it's just dumb. Why not put the damage in attacks? For a melee, it's fine. Taking out our deadzone and making a large portion of our damage come from auto-attacks isn't going to be cool design. 3) Normalization - Hunter needs to be a melee or a ranged, not awkwardly in between. Therefore, we should get our passive mitigation back and have the amount of times we crit be regulated just like it is for every other real physical damage dealer. Rogues and Warriors can COUNT ON CRITS. Hunter wouldn't be so frustrating to play against if the damage was consistent. 4) Scaling - 3510 Ranged Attack Power is probably not going to be good in Mists of Pandaria. Why not just assign a percent? Why doesn't my Trueshot Aura give me something special so it's actually better than Blessing of Might? 5) Mastery - MM mastery is just bad, come on. How is it that Hot Streak is more reliable than Master Marksman? MAKE OUR DAMAGE CONSISTENT IN PVP 6) Arming time - you want to make Hunter CC reliable? Take away the arming time you added at 60. No different than Psychic Scream if you think about it. 7) Reduction of useless abilities - removing our melee will take some of this, but seriously. I got Gladiator in S9 as an Affliction Warlock and my Hunter still has more binds. Combine Master's Call and Roar of Sacrifice. 8) If you give us Camouflage again I am going to go insane - really? ALTER TIME going in for Mages and you are REGIVING US Camouflage that can be used in combat? I almost threw up on my computer. Nothing says, "we don't care about you" like giving us what you should have given us the first time. Give us something good and new or admit that you failed at designing this part of your game. -- We have been the lowest represented class for the last two expansions and we present evidence and are asked to just wait until the next expansion. If we do that, you should fix these issues. Hunter just isn't something Blizzard would make. And like I said. If you give us Camouflage again I am going to throw up and then I am going to cast Alter Time and go back in time and throw up again. DON'T DO IT. |

Who and how did I insult?
edit: nevermind the negative nancies, support me, Hunter brothers. We must stick together just like Black Actors. |
Bill Cosby doesn't stick together with most black actors. And Steve Harvey. And most of them with actual morals and values in their choice of parts they've played do not stick with the majority of current black actors. I would add Morgan Freeman, but he's just a loveable grandpa that he likes everyone and anyone.
Also, scorch is a talent in MoP. If steady shot while moving was a talent you'd have an argument, but it's not and neither is the aspect for it. A lot of your other arguments have already been addressed so do some research and stop posting useless threads. Also almost all other classes got their current abilities redressed as something new. You're not special or singled out. |

I gave up on Blizzard several years ago.

And now I find myself agreeing with Purebalance, again. The world is ending, and it's a hunter's fault. :p
If you look at the paladin talents, even this new build has a tier (L75) where the talents are all just slightly reworded versions of things Retribution has today (in fact, Ret has all of them today, so will lose 2/3rds of them in MoP). Hunters are by no means unique in this regard. Oh, and they aren't the only class with highly variant damage in PvE and PvP, or who can't rely on crits when they need them. |

this made reading the post worth it |

I challenge anyone out there that plays another class to stop playing it, level and gear a hunter and then achieve the same level of success in rated pvp. Do this without getting carried, I dare you too.
Another challenge for you all non hunter class players, get out there and pvp without using your self healing abilities...lets see how well you do. Yes, I know...BM with spirit beast, MM with Chimera shot heal, blah blah blah...one is nothing more han a gimmick that requires camping a rare and forgoing CC and RoS to use, the other is well, garbage plain and simple. And dont even comment if you're a mage unless you have balls enough to play as arcane....fire and frost? I'm sorry, no matter how good you think you are...well, you just aren't. |
It also cancels Abomination's Might and Unleashed Rage. Get over yourself. |
Why should you be able to move while using steady shot? It's called steady show for a reason!
Because it would be a fair trade off for the horrible damage it does? In pvp, it's around a 1.9 second cast..........can you name a casted ability that is almost a 2 second cast and hits for as little damage as steady? Not to mention it being affected by casting slow debuffs even though its how we regen our resource. |
Casting Scorch while moving is something only a fire mage can do and it has to be talented. You can already auto shoot while running. That is good enough. In fact, all of your attacks other than steady shot can be used while running. They are also getting rid of the 5 yd requirement so melee won't be an issue anymore.

Thats right and a frost mage can run around and fire off instant cast icelances that hit like trucks while they try to set up for even more burst. Seriously, one of two things needs to happen in this game..either hunters need to be brought up to other class standards or other classes need to be brought down. |

Thats right and a frost mage can run around and fire off instant cast icelances that hit like trucks. Let's not pretend that ice lance doesn't hit like a wet noodle outside of the target being frozen. In b4 baseless exaggerations that mages have 10,000 roots with no DR that can never be dispelled and claims that you shouldn't have to pvp with a healer. |
It's a spammable instant cast that hits harder then my 1.9 second casted shot on non frozen targets..so, yeah........ And yes, I know...different classes are different.......doesnt mean one class should be stuck at a level below all others. |
Steady shot is your Focus regen power..... strip out the Focus regen part and we can talk about the damage. |
You're right! It is about time for blizzard to stop letting you post on the forum since you obviously have no idea what you're talking about and are always second guessing people who do systems design for a living. And trust me its not nearly as easy everyone on the forums thinks it is.
I just jumped on my mage and spammed a target dummy with ice lance. They were hitting for 5800-6000 (no resilience). Asked a hunter in SW to come SS the target dummy with me (he's in pve gear, i'm in pvp gear) his SS was hitting for 5800-6000 so I'd say they're pretty similar damage-wise. Obviously the difference is you regen focus with SS and IL doesn't regen anything. You have to admit an ability that's meant to regen focus shouldn't really be a hard hitting shot as well. |
