So the day was going normally, my school had taken us to a local college for a tour and some overall info about college life, how to apply, ect. The bus ride there had my neck aching from awkward sleeping positions and my head is throbbing- tell-tale signs another migraine is coming. After school I drive to pick up my grandma from her late lunch and she's talking WAY to much, adding to the headache, so the frustration and overall "Ughhhh" feeling is increasingly becoming worse and harder to control. We skip through some neighborhood streets near our house to avoid traffic and as we're turning the corner..

BAM. Some huge white pick-up truck with the extra big add on grill and the 18 wheeler truck tires rams into the back of the car. Well, that didn't help with anything, so I wait, and as he removes his car from mine I put the car in park and prepare to get out and demand his insurance. Right before I open the door he suddenly hits the gas and rams me a second time, before pulling back again and speeding off! Now, I'm usually a very calm, level headed person but today, with my headache... Oh hell no this guy did NOT just do what I thought he did.

So at the same time I'm re-buckling my seatbelt I spin around, hit the gas and start chasing him. My 71 year old grandma is practically hyperventilating as I toss her my cell, telling her to call the cops. She manages to do that while I'm swerving through neighborhood streets, and finally onto a normal, yet mostly empty road area behind the train tracks. My grandma ends up having the cops cut him off in the middle of the road, you know, where there are like 4 cars lined up and the cops are standing behind them, guns aimed?

Well the guy had to stop, he was absolutely WASTED, the car was stolen, and so there's no way insurance from him can help repair the car, which from the back is totaled. The estimated repair price is 13k. /heavysigh

So, while part of me is laughing because that was probably the most epic thing I've ever done in my 17 years of living, my grandma is pissed because she has to probably just buy a new car, since a 7 year old car is not worth fixing for that much apparently.

So now I ask you, what has been your worst experience with driving OR what was the most epic thing you think you've ever done?

Or my... god... that's absolutely intense. You should be on the news for this one, frankly. I want to see this on my television set.

That's an amazing day. Sounds exciting!

Edit: The most epic thing I've done? Well, I haven't really had an eventful life *Gestures to computer monitor as if evidence* Though I've done somethings that made me laugh hilariously. Like shooting a potato launcher full of marshmallows at a friend and totally smoking him with marshmallow napalm earlier this week. Did you know that 2 feet of flames shoot from those things? It was insanity.

Dude that's intense.

My worst experience today?

Finding a body in the dumpster at work. Sware on everything that is holy.

I was a passenger in a car with my mother on the D.C. Beltway twelve years ago when apparently my mother's decision to change lanes ticked the SUV driver behind her off something fierce. He followed us as we got off the highway, then followed us home. Rather than turning into our townhouse complex, my mother got really spooked by being followed and started turning at random blocks, left and right. He kept following. And tailgating. And honking his horn. And throwing a finger. For thirteen miles in suburban Washington D.C., this guy followed us at such close distance I couldn't see the headlights (in daylight) of his jacked-up SUV.

So Mom started using the evasive driving techniques she learned in the military. Almost shook him, but he caught up. That's when she told me to lean my seat back, pop down the backseat so I could get in the trunk, and remove her unloaded, concealed-carry permitted handgun. I handed it to her. She lifted it high enough to be visible. Frighteningly aggressive driver switched lanes immediately and sped on past.

Brandishing is illegal. But it's better than having the guy in the SUV follow you home and beat you with a crowbar. I never want to have something that scary happen to me again. Aggressive drivers terrify me.

Well. That has me beat, that must've been terrifying.

My own experience was kind of a mixed blessing. Five to seven years ago, my mother and I were driving along to my grandmother's house (grandmother was basically dying, so we were already shook up) when out of nowhere this pickup truck slams us on my side (passenger) at around 40 MPH. Well our 94 camaro was made of titanium or something for that instant, as we were going around 25 when we hit him. Picked up the truck, tossed it into a signpost. My mother had severe aches in the neck for years afterward, and I got out lucky with only a large gash across my face.

The people in the truck were a drug dealer, con-artist, and prostitute, and said prostitute ran away immediately. We tried to track them down, but when we did we almost got shot by a 'friend' of theirs who claimed he thought we were burglars. It's a mixed blessing because we were able to get six thousand dollars (enough to pay for repairs, the car was totaled but my mom loves it) due to having uninsured motorists'. Though I still can barely sit in a car today without having to look away when someone's about to pull out, much less drive one. Also a mixed blessing because that means I walk everywhere or pick up a ride from a friend/family member, therefore EXERCISE. Plus the leftover money is helping with college, whoo

Strangest thing that's ever happened to me is when I worked in a liquor distribution warehouse.

A pallet of mid-shelf whiskey (give or take, about 480 750ml bottles) gave way and overturned from 30 feet up on top of the forklift trying to rescue it from a failing shelf support.

Entire warehouse had to take thirty because of the fumes.

Was at the house I lived in; my roommate had this party going on for 8 DAYS while his parents were gone in Italy: people getting high, drinking, and constant terrible music (which I was almost driven to insanity by.) Horrible times.

Somebody had a little too much to drink, and a text sent to them by their ex really set them off. (I think it was something along the lines of "u wil nvr be his father" with a pic of the chick's kid attached to it.)

...They pulled out a gun. and threatened to shoot everyone.

Now, I'm just sitting in my room with the door locked... (I'm a sober person, and preferred playing WoW when I wasn't busy sleeping,) so all I can do is listen and sit there scared as hell. A lot of fighting went on, mostly tackling the guy to try and get the gun away from him; at one point I actually opened the door a crack, and saw my roommate go and get a gun himself. Luckily the police were called, everyone got off with a warning, and my roommate's mom got informed... the party ended with nobody harmed, thankfully.

Someone offered to buy my hat one day at work. About the weirdest thing that's happened to me in a while.

What?

Edit: Oh, and there was that one time when the wildlife sanctuary I worked at for a couple summers somehow got mistaken by a lady for a steakhouse.

A bunch of weird things happen to me. The two weirdest that spring to mind...

A few years ago, while I was walking home from school, I go past this alleyway that's on my usual route. I glance down it because there's this really cool Zelda grafiti there, and as I walk past, BOOM, this African woman appears from down the alleyway, out of nowhere, dressed in this funny purple getup. She starts desperately trying to sell me a bunch of cursed grapes, wanted five dollars for it... I kept walking.

Another time, I got beat up at a train station. The weird part was the guy who attacked me... he slapped me hard enough at one point to knock the glasses off my face, then bent down, picked them up with great care, made sure they were undamaged, gave them back to me, waited for me to put them on, then went back to hitting me. About five minutes later, he came up to me again, weepily apologising and begging me to not call the police. Later still, on the train, he tried to rob me - he wanted a ring that my parents got me for my birthday. I managed to !@#$-talk my way out of that, though.

Alright, since I see some KoM folks in the thread, I'll give it a go too. Me an my brother, (an aggressive driver to say the least) are driving a near block away from our house when an SUV begins riding my brother's bumper. So my brother brakes hard and the SUV attempts to go around on a double yellow line street. My brother speeds up not letting the guy pass so that he is in the left lane of a two lane road. Eventually, my brother lets him pass and he pulls ahead of us and stops the car. Out walks an 18 year old in blue shorts and a wife beater. Not to be rascist, but he was Mexican as we live in West Texas. He opens the back of the SUV and starts digging through something presumably looking for a gun, so my brother pseeds up to act like he is going to ram the SUV to scare the guy from grabbing a gun...turns at the last second and off we go and the chase begins. We are driving 90 mph+ down back streets and country roads calling our parents to get in the front yard with the gun. AS the chase goes on for about 10 minutes we fnally lose him due to my brothers good high speed driving skills. We pull into the garage shut it quickly and hope we don't see that car ever again. For the next month every time I heard a car door open outside I'd peek through the blinds and check to see if a Mexican gunman had come to execute us scarface style. Terrifying moment.

I was walking home from work one day, just off the night shift, and some jerkwad deliberately swerved his/her truck to try and hit me. I had to run up onto the curb and into the nearby graveyard.

At the same job, a very drunk college guy kept trying to proposition me into the bathroom (I was the only one who worked at night at that convenience store). I wanted to call the cops but every time I picked up the phone he got really paranoid and violent. So I finally managed to talk him into letting me get him a cab and had to stand there with him in the store, trying to keep a counter between us until the cab driver showed up. I swear if I ever find out who dropped him off there, I will punch them.

Was nearly homeless for awhile.

But never was in a car-chase. You deserve a COPS episode or something.

Only experience I've really had is something I slept through most of.

Was in the car with mom driving us both to another town for the weekend. Some jackass swerved in front of us on a cliffside freeway, nearly ran us off the side of the road (which was something like a 20-foot sheer drop into a large lake). Mom honks the horn, leans out and flips the guy off.

I, of course, think nothing of it and decide to take a nap. Drop my chair back, lay down and pass out. I'm then abruptly woken up about half an hour later, sitting in the parking lot of a convenience store. Turns out after I fell asleep, the guy in the other car slowed down, let mom overtake him, then followed her the rest of the way along the freeway, into a small town, and tailed her throughout. She'd stopped to call the cops, at which point he pulled up on the other side of the road and got out of the car, heading towards us.

Now, I wasn't entirely clear on what was going on, seeing as how I'd just woken up and was still tired and fairly pissed off. So I sat up, and looked out the window in time to see the guy pause, stare at me wide-eyed and hightail it back to his car.

Apparently he'd thought it was only mom on her own, and didn't account for the possibility that there might be someone sleeping in the retracted passenger's seat.

Tangentically related, there's the time I saw some girl (20's-ish) steal money from a street performer in my home town. I ended up chasing her about four blocks, ducked through some back alleys to cut her off, then tackled her and took the guy's money back. In retrospect, I'm seriously lucky nobody grabbed me for mugging her!
