I do not frequent forums much anymore, so I do not know the issues related with this topic or if it has been answered yet.

However, as I start to obtain more and more epic gems the value of my chimera eye's is slowly falling. I would think that a buff to them would be coming soon. Almost want to switch over to blacksmithing, but JC would probably get buffed just as I changed.

If anyone knows more than I do on this, please inform me.

They wont be buffing JC, with the limited availability of epic gems, they don't see it as enough of a problem to buff it.

If I used my gems instead of selling them I could have epics in every slot on 3 of my 85s.

There was a blue post literally like 3 weeks ago or less on this topic saying exactly what he's saying so yeah no there will be no change to jc.

it has nothing to do with the availability of epic gems,my main is full epic gems for both my dps and tank sets "pvp".i sit in sw and get spammed with wipers "need epics cuts, because im a JC and i have cut a ton"

the problem is blizz is to dam cheap to do a hot fix,plain and simple.no reason in their eyes to fix JC when JC's will keep playing,so why fix it.same reason why blizz does not do anything about pvp "warriors",they not going to spend the time or $ on a sinking ship "this game" blizz is milking every last $ out of this game they can until their new mmo "titian" is ready.then the cycle starts again.

You don't have to play the auction house to have gems. I literally have over a stack cut delicate Queen's Garnets in my bags now plus other epic gems waiting for higher ilvl pieces to drop. I've only been given one, the rest are from killing bosses. There won't be any "limited availability" stigma over them soon.

For real guys, the mass majority of WoW doesn't have readily available access to epic gems because the vast majority is dealing with the abysmal drop rate from the Normal-mode geodes. Most players are still in 90-100% rare gems, and in that 10% space half of them are using the Chimera's Eyes and not the epic drops because they just don't drop that much unless you're doing heroic fights regularly (which the vast majority of the game is not). This is to say nothing of the absurd Auction House price on most servers, barring even more players out of them.

In Wrath I remember JC being balanced toward the epic cuts, and that was more than likely because of how damn easy to obtain they were (and they weren't that expensive- relative to content- either). They aren't this expansion because the epic gems are just not common enough to balance the professions around.

If it bugs you that much, switch from JC and grind Blacksmithing up.

lol. slapping gems up at the end of the raid night doesn't take hours.

There currency you get for heroic modes is the same currency for regular. Doing heroics will not get you epic gems any faster. You only get the guaranteed epic from killing Deathwing.

Congrats on being EXTREMELY lucky. I've gotten ~6-8 Queen's Garnets at this point.

But i've started levelling JC on alts just cuz chimera's eyes are cheaper than inferno rubies by about 300g each on my server, with epic gems being 6k each or so for an unnoticeable difference it's no big deal.

Point being that not everyone has hundreds of thousands of gold to spend on epic gems. The amount of people who raid consistently is still terribly low.

You don't raid = no epic gems unless you spend tons of gold.

That is their reasoning.

That said a 51 pt stat gain for JC vs a 80 for other prof vs a 100 for BS is mute other than for self epeen to all but progression. For the folks that pot 2x a fight or spend multiple nights tries where 1% dps could change the outcome of the encounter. In other words there are 2 choices at this point to drop JC or live with it. Some browsing will show most toons that are better than 4/8 are mostly epics in any 410+ gear. The right thing to do would be to confirm that there will be no change to JC until MoP so you have the choice to drop the prof for the extra stats if you choose or change the Chimera's eyes by +10 to bring JC back up to speed with everything else.

You mean like people did with LWing at the start of Cata and BSing now? Or how everyone went Engineering during ICC? Or LWing/Enchanting during BC?

So because somethin dumb happened before, it should continue to happen? Yeah no.

The people who don't have full epic gems by now are the type of players who would not care enough to drop their professions to grind a new one to get a small stat boost.

The players who do have all epics are the ones who feel forced to drop JC to get a better profession for progression.
