Warrior or Death Knight for PVE and PVP
|
|
Hey guys, as you can see I have this DK that I managed to get to 85 and Gear him a bit.
I also have a 82 Warrior which i play around with him a bit, thing is I'm in a dilemma and can't decide between my DK and Warrior. My focus is PVE and Raiding, but i enjoy PVP as well, also I like to be competitive in raids and Wanna Tank as offspec. please share your opinion. should I stick to my DK or am I better off with a Warrior in the long run? |

PvE I definitely give to DK. With this level of content we are probably the best tanks. Our damage beats Warriors as Unholy and is very close in Frost. You can also go back and solo pretty much any content you want on your own if you're bored.
In PvP. Prot flag carriers win. Otherwise, Death Knights again are better for the most part. Warriors are in a pretty rough spot right now all around. |

Just by looking at upcoming talent tree in MOP, which one do you think will have a better future?

The DK in my opinon. Warriors only really shine on a few select fights, and Lambs to the Slaughter falling off or lacking Enrage for Raging Blow can easily agitate newer players. I suggest the Death Knight.
Frost has always been a fun spec to play in my eyes. As for Unholy haven't had any experience playing the spec, perhaps a DK fill this part in? |

Which one has better AOE in raid situation?
|
Not sure which has "best" AOE, but Arms, Frost, and Unholy all have more than sufficient cleave/AOE for what's required in DS raids. Of the Warrior & DK DPS spec, Fury seems to be the only one that's hurting in that department. |

I don't know about you, but I've always been higher on the dps charts than warriors in guild groups, pugs, and lfr. |

PVE DPS (actual WoL logs, not anecdotal accounts like the guy above me)
Arms >>>> unholy > fury > frost PVE Tanking: Blood > Protection PVP DPS: Frost=Unholy >>>>>>>> Arms>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> fury PVP Tanking/flag: Protection > Blood |

PVE DPS (actual WoL logs, not anecdotal accounts like the guy above me) All I know is that whatever raid I've been in, the only way a warrior has beaten me in dps is if they're one of the tanks for alysrazor. Also, your spec's kind of messed up. either take the the point out of epidemic and put it, and your 85 point, in improved blood tap or take one of the points out of butchery and put it, and your 85 point, in epidemic. Also, take the two points out of on a pale horse and put them endless winter. Believe me, you'll be using mind freeze a lot more than you think. |

Invest in some real warriors then. You shouldn't be beating competent Arms warriors.

PVE DPS (actual WoL logs, not anecdotal accounts like the guy above me) Then you're running with !@#$ty Warriors. |
That just means your playing with bad warriors, a Dk has never beaten me. Go look at Raidbots and look at the best of the best players and their numbers and compare, not even close. Warriors destroy Dk's in PvE, Dk's faceroll in pvp though. |
I have a question for you -- as you can see, my mainspec is prot and arms. My guild is hopefully expanding into a 25 man (we do 10 mans atm) and if the dice rolls in my favor and the stars align and I'm allowed to go DPS full-time, you have two specs, why? Fury and Arms? |
|
Warriors are def better in PvE dps than DKs. Why? Because warriors scale better with gear than any other class in this game period. This also creates the problem of lesser geared warriors looking terrible compared to DKs in equal gear.
But a warrior with BiS vs. a DK with BiS will most likely favor the warrior. |
Well, I am a full time dps in my group aswell, and depending on the fight, i switch it up between Fury and Arms, especially for Heroic Progression. On certain fights with lots of mobility and single target type damage it can be beneficial to play fury for better mobility and an easier rotation, but fights with large AoE damage i play arms. Arms is possibly slightly ahead of Fury even in single target right now, but the difference is so slight it really comes down to preference and skill in the spec for single target fights. I used to have two Arms specs, one for AoE fights one for single target, and then decided i would be better off in Fury for single target only. |

According to the recent DPS statistics for Dragon Soul, arms warriors are far away above any DK spec. They are currently in the top 4 I believe (along with fire mages, shadow priests, and combat rogues). So if you master arms, you should be doing far better DPS in PVE.
However, blood DK's offer much better survivability in tanking and are generally much, much easier to play and handle. With regards to PVP, after the vengence nerf, all DK's are having surviability issues and low damage output in PVP. Warrior's I can't really comment on there. |

PVE DPS (actual WoL logs, not anecdotal accounts like the guy above me) Quit raiding with bad warriors. |
