Detterance

I'd assume it's because the cooldown on Deterrence is shorter than other immunities.
Deterrence - 2 minutes. Ice Block - 5 minutes. Divine Shield - 5 minutes. |
I'd assume it's because the cooldown on Deterrence is shorter than other immunities. So its fair that my one good defensive is wasted because of blizzards love for casters? Just lost another game because said Fire mage is a fire mage. |

Problem 1. If you saw damage enough coming to take you to 30k, you should have used it before. That's not an "emergency button". It's something you should be actively using to avoid the most damage possible.
Problem 2. You took on 2 people by yourself. I won't say you got outplayed, because you didn't. I will say that you should have expected death, because that (generally speaking) is how 2-on-1 situations go. Now, lets take it all in together. Why wouldn't you have used it before they started really getting you? You know that they're DoT classes. They chip away at you. So popping it earlier would have been the smart thing to do. Waiting until you're almost dead and then popping it is a waste of a CD. |

Well, you know, you could always pop readiness if you needed it a second time. Bam, two immunities. Also, if you're glyphed and spec'd correctly, it should have an even shorter cooldown. |
I'd assume it's because the cooldown on Deterrence is shorter than other immunities. ... Ok... you're complaining because as a trade off for getting to use your cooldown 2 1/2 times as often as other classes, you have to have trade off 100% damage reduction? Go hit some more 40k bestial wrath/intimidation/Kill Commands. |

You should see the problems rogue have to deal with Vanish. Vanish supposedly makes you get stealth without ANYTHING breaking it. I find that as soon as there's more than 2 enemies on you, vanish will never work. The only thing you can do when it breaks is to pop Cloak, Sprint and any trinket that removes movement imparing effects. Just cause the skill that was made for this situation doesn't work.

What the warlock above me said and...
It's not meant to be like Ice Block or Divine Shield. Stop whining. |

It's something you should be actively using to avoid the most damage possible. Yes, however I was being topped and my healer got silenced from the Spriest (Random from trade) so I was expecting being topped. Problem 2. You took on 2 people by yourself. I won't say you got outplayed, because you didn't. I will say that you should have expected death, because that (generally speaking) is how 2-on-1 situations go. 3v3 genius. |
You didn't mention it. For all we knew, you were talking about fighting some random people outside of Org or SW.
Lack of communication can only lead to failure. Dude, it's not a personal attack. It was pointing out some issues you yourself had mentioned. And you still haven't acknowledged that you used it improperly. It doesn't matter if you're gonna get some healing or not. Using your CD's properly, and at the correct time, is paramount to performing well in any environment. |
You didn't mention it. For all we knew, you were talking about fighting some random people outside of Org or SW. If you dont PvP, dont try to prove me wrong. 1v1/2v2/5v5s dont matter, muchless 1v2s. 3v3 is what its balanced around.
No lack of communication. He got silenced, I deterranced. I died because said Dot classes are casters. |

Cast it before they DoT you so they miss.
Even better, talent for Mirrored Blades so they DoT themselves. Or at least cast it before you're almost dead. |

Yeah I agree hunters have no defense against dot classes I can kill a hunter using a literal single global. Pyroblast crit + combustion (combustion doesn't take a global) then silence on the healer (doesn't take a global either) and then folllow up with cc/whatever my teammate has. As long as he doesn't get heals, the hunter will die. Every other class can do something.

\ Again, if you dont PvP, please dont post "helpful" responses.
You obviously dont even BG, or you would know the PvP spec of classes.

Ele shammies are viable, so are enhancements, if you're good. Poor shamans, I wish I had 3 viable specs on any of my 85s.
This guy knows whats up. Seems to me you got outplayed. They knew you hadn't hit deterrence yet, they silenced your healer, then proceeded to kill you. So, by this same logic, that PMR that globaled the pally in 5 seconds in the opener outplayed him, because they are Mage/Rogue/Priest, and knew he hadnt bubbled yet. So they proceeded to kill him? |
I wasn't aware that this was a balance discussion. I pointed out that you hadn't mentioned AT ALL what your situation was, and it doesn't matter, in any case. Trying to argue this is pointless and childish. And I wasn't aware that I had to post on my PvP toon to give good, sound advice to anyone. Sorry about that, bro.
You didn't die because they were casters. You died because you did get outplayed, then. I take back my previous statement. Maybe if you better coordinated with your team things would have gone better. It's still not not an issue with Deterrence, in any case. Don't blame "you" issues on the game, and don't try and skirt the reality of the situation to "make yourself look better". It only makes you look worse. |
