So, I'm calling it now...

At the very end of Mists of Pandaria, Garrosh and Varian Wrynn will be Raid bosses for the opposing factions. Setting up for the following expansion, Jaina and Thrall will take up the mantle of leaders of their respective factions, and attempt to bridge the gap between factions as we make our final stand against the Burning Legion.
Mark my words... |
They said that we would like Garrosh by the end of Cata... look how that turned out. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. |

Setting up for the following expansion, Jaina and Thrall will take up the mantle of leaders of their respective factions, and attempt to bridge the gap between factions as we make our final stand against the Burning Legion. This makes no sense. If one side one the war in lore terms, then perhaps one of the leaders would be replaced... But what kind of decent war could we have where both leaders get killed in seperate raids? |

With what we have heard so far from the novel, I suspect Jania of Aha corruption as well.
Not that I think Varain can't be corrupted, given his anger issues and constant relapses. I suspect the sha would flock to him like flies to a terd. Granted his Lo'gosh form will probably protect him form it. |
|
|
I'm gonna call sha corrupted Garrosh/Jaina(depending on how the novel goes) as bosses.
|
|
|
If anything they will create Sha for the players to fight
|
The difference is that I see far more people who like Varian than I see people who dislike him. It's the opposite with Garrosh, who never had a majority of the Horde liking him. |
|
i can see these 2 beingin final raid boss but as for a kill i htink somehting would stop up before we deal the final blow aa they make a hastely reteat
|
Because Blizzard doesn't set us up to kill people people we like, the Nexus was a lie. |
Are you kidding? Most people still can't get past him calling out green jesus in Undercity, as stupid as that may seem. I mean it was entirely justified, yet people still can't get over it. |

When Varian was introduced, Metzen said he would become someone "as dynamic as Thrall" who can "totally rally the Alliance".
Between the World of Warcraft comic book, various appearances in Wrath of the Lich King (Scourge Invasion, Battle for the Undercity, Ulduar trailer, Icecrown Citadel, Elemental Unrest), Stormrage, The Shattering and Wolfheart, Varian has received more attention than any other Alliance character. When players expressed dissatisfaction with the Alliance story in Cataclysm, Blizzard responded by promising to give Varian more attention and an even bigger role. I don't think they're planning to kill him off. Not when Blizzard is putting all the Alliance's eggs in his basket. |

I dont see any faction leaders dieing look how bad people took it when Cairne and Magni were killed off. Maybe in a few years but I dont see it coming in MoP at the very least

Lets start with Garrosh.
Garrosh clearly isn't liked by other racial leaders of the Horde, we've all seen that. And for the most part, the Horde player base doesn't exactly enjoy having him as leader. "He's a tyrant, he's a mongrel, he's destroying our Horde." Alliance players hate him because he's pushing into your lands. Let's compare him to Thrall. For similarities, they both love the Horde, they love the Horde so much that they are willing to do anything for its well-being. Now the difference is Thrall finds the Horde's well being by coming to peace with the alliance. Thrall understands the importance of peace and cooperation because he has gone through times where pacts between his people, the humans and night elves took place to save their home. Garrosh is a new resident of Azeroth, all he ever knew was that his father was a traitor and left his family for dead until he was told of his great sacrifice. Being brought into the Horde has basically renewed this guy. All he wants to do make the Horde the best it can be, just like Thrall. Unlike Thrall, he thinks this is the equivalent to the destruction of the Alliance. Garrosh is not as a mature as Thrall, but why should he be? Thrall has been through many things that would show him that the world would be safer with the Horde and Alliance together. The thing is, we don't know Garrosh enough to understand what he's doing or even if he knows what he's doing. He's has values. Remember when he threw Krom'gar off the bridge? He said some pretty meaningful stuff. "I sent you into Stonetalon Mountains with an army. Your orders were to secure this land for the Horde. Instead, you laid waste to the land. Murdered innocents. Children even... I spent a very long time in Northrend, Krom'gar. I learned much about the Horde in that time. While there, a wise old war hero told me something that I would carry with me forever... 'Honor,' Krom'gar, 'No matter how dire the battle... never forsake it.' Overlord Krom'gar, you have disgraced the Horde. You have brought shame to us as a people. By my right as Warchief, I hereby relieve you of your duty." There is more to Garrosh than you think, and he has some serious potential. Given the time to learn what it's really all about, he would make an excellent Warchief, but time isn't something he has so while something will be done about his position in the Horde, killing him as a raid boss won't happen. As for Varian. This guy is one of the best people the Alliance has ever had within its ranks. Bolvar, Lothar and Turalyon are the only other to even compete. He has had some great character development Between the World of Warcraft comic book, various appearances in Wrath of the Lich King (Scourge Invasion, Battle for the Undercity, Ulduar trailer, Icecrown Citadel, Elemental Unrest), Stormrage, The Shattering and Wolfheart and is still going to get even more development in the political aspect throughout the rising and climaxing war in Mists. Much less needs to be said about Varian because we know his place in the Alliance as their leader. Only a human can lead this faction because it was the humans who brought its races together. (Except Brann or Magni, whichever one wrote the letter to Varian about having a truce with the Horde, that one should be the leader haha) Anyway, I'm sure Blizzard will handle these two correctly and I can guarantee by the end of Mists neither will be raid bosses and only one will be standing or at least only one will be their faction's leader, and that will Varian. |

I think at least Sylvanas will get hers in Mists, I would love to save Koltira with the help of Thassarian and take her out once and for all, something both factions could do even with Sylvanas being horde. Only toward the end of the expansion though. If the end of Mists brings about the end to the war... I can only think of all the ways that it would work out beautifully. |
Most of those people are Horde. Among those I've spoken to who aren't particularly well versed in the lore seem to range from not really caring about him to loving him. I know at least one lady who wants to get it on with him, something that I've never seen applied to an Alliance character before. (Well, from a woman.) None of these people visit forums. Horde players don't like him for calling out Thrall, and I don't think that they're supposed to anyway. The general sentiment among Alliance players from what I've seen is that he's one of the single best things to happen to the Alliance ever. He's an action hero faction leader with realistic and believable development who has ties to every piece of major Alliance lore that's thus far been conceived. It's no wonder people like him, he is effectively the Alliance already, barring some disgruntled Night Elf and Draenei fans, but even then, Varian has ties to the Night Elves out the wazoo as well. I can think of no better individual to represent the Alliance, the Alliance's interests, and the Alliance's people than Varian Wrynn. He's not going to be killed off, because where Blizzard failed with Garrosh, they had a tremendous success with Varian, even despite the rocky start. Varian is here to stay, and rightly so. |

Varian Wrynn was hating on Thrall before it became cool. |
Bull!@#$. Being divided in two, getting magic sword, rejoining, blessed by wolf god... what? Oh, and let's not forget that before his comic slavery hadn't been in the Horde... Had to demonize the entire faction just to make Varian have a backstory that paralleled Thrall's. |
