I thought "mats" were something you bought for people to sit on so they could do their crafting.

Huh? I can't equip this mail yet? Oh, I'll just save it then!

i actually believed hogger stories -.- for the longest time i thought i would actually take negative levels from fighting him, i just look back and facepalm so hard now...

I thought that you would use /s to tell a quest giver that you completed a misson.
YES I EXPLORED THE MINES! |
|
I thought you had to kill sheep in the Eastern Kingdoms to farm wool.

Back when I first started I had a warrior. I obtained a quest to gather wolf pelts, and after some time, started to notice a trend. Not all of the wolves had pelts on them, and the ones that didn't happened to be the ones I had used Rend on. I assumed that rend had tore up their hides too much, so whenever I had a quest to gather body parts for the next few levels, i refrained from using rend.

Another one.
I thought splitting my talent points between all three trees made me extremely versatile. I wondered why people were always looking for groups for something called VC in westfall. |

I thought pst was like saying pssst and not please send tell.

-Intellect was the highest feral priority.
-Every DoT came from warlocks. -20g was a crap load of money. -Warriors were "boring" and "unoriginal" so they must've sucked. -If you had a mount you were amazing. -When armor broke, you'd lose it so I ALWAYS was repairing. -When I got to level 20 and got Starfire I would be indestructible! (Even if I was feral!) -Darnassus was the place to be. ...Yeeeeaaaahhhh... |

I used to turn down raids because I didn't like PvP. ...I thought a raid was when people attacked an enemy faction town.
I used to spam high-threat attacks when I was in trouble to try and make mobs "run away in fear" to give myself a chance to heal up. |
|
I thought after doing the questlines in Auberdine that involved taking a sick bear to one of the elves, that you got a pet bear you could name.
I was a total newbie & I had seen a hunter with the same bear. xD I also used to think rolling greed on something was rude, & that rolling need was the polite thing to do because, who wants to be seen as greedy? I also used to think the totem quest in Duskwood gave you a totem like a Shammy... & speaking of Duskwood I still have the story of Ladimore because I thought I had to keep it for my quests... Then I just never threw it out for nostalgia reasons. |

Tanking as a mage with a group of buddies through low level dungeons in BC. I didn't know about aggro/threat and usually tried running away to live.
|
|
I thought that "FTW" was "F___ the world." instead of "For the Win."
I thought that jumping made you go faster. I thought that everyone was able to use any weapon (at the time, I played a Warrior). That's about it, I didn't do a lot of noob-ly things when I started. |
|
|
Jumping increased my damage and made me harder to hit.
|
|
one of my first toons was a mage and when i finally made it to deadmines, i noticed that the entire group seemed to take damage when i did my blizzard move, so i thought that you had to use it sparingly or you would end up killing your whole group.

I didn't know what quests were. I leveled my way up to 40 from purely killing things. >.< Back in vanilla, that would...my god. |
