I personally don't think that it is fair at all that Mages can just blink out of pretty much everything. Mainly stuns. When your doing arenas against a Mage that actually knows what they are doing, there is a slim chance that you can win. Me and my friend were doing our weekly arenas to try and get out of our PVE gear, and we had entered a match where our opponents were a Mage and a Rogue while me and my friend were a Paladin and a Rogue. Every time....not just sometimes, but every time i stunned the Mage he blinked out of the stun, froze me, and started burning me. It's not fair that the Mages can blink out of stuns when we Rogues can't Shadow Step out of a stun/freeze..or any other Crowd Control. The only thing Rogues can do is Vanish out and so far that I know of it's only when you get frozen in place. Even Vanish has a three minute cool-down and Preparation is a five minute cool-down. If Mages were not allowed to Blink in arenas it would make things more fair to the Melee that don't want to waste a trinket. It doesn't matter much if they Blink in battlegrounds, but arenas are very different. It's just not fair that they can Blink out of almost everything.

i find it funny they tried so hard to make specs idiot proof and people like this guy come along with proof no matter what they do people will still be stupid.

also...maybe you should gem/enchant your gear.

I didn't plan on geming and enchanting my gear until I got full Cataclysmic PVP gear because there is not point to wasting gems and enchants on gear your going to replace in a few days

I'm new to arenas...kind of and the only way they Blink is right after I stun I haven't found any other way to do it.

Just keep Crippling up on him and when he freezes you and gets away, Deadly Throw or FoK. Or get out of the freeze of course. If you're lucky, he'll Blink to get away if you're backstab spamming him, then Shadowstep/Kidney Shot gg

A Mage can only blink once every 15 seconds. The best way to handle Blink is to open with a Garrot attack (silence) on the Mage and apply your poisons while he's defenseless (Crippling Poison should be one of your poisons). When the silence is over, the Mage is almost indefinitely going to Frost Nova, cone of Cold or any other form of root to get you off of them. Break the control with either Vanish or Cloak of Shadows and get right back on them, this will usually force them to Blink.

Shadowstep, stun.

Rogues have probably the easiest time keeping a Mage locked down of any class, just practice your timings, don't blow your cooldowns immediately and force the Mage to play to your game.

I try to time my hammer right after a teammate forces a blink. If you're talking about this in respect to arenas, then I'm assuming you should also be talking to your team about who is applying what cc and when. If your 2's team really has a ret pally, this should be an easy to fix for you...

Your best bet is keep high pressure on the mage at all times, starting with the opening strategy outlined by the mage who posted earlier. Be very careful about your friend using Hand of Freedom and having it spellstolen.

I don't mind it to much, as a ret it can be a little more of a problem since it's harder to force their blink due to lack of a snare or real pressure, but I fail to see your problem as a rogue, if they don't blink then you stay on top of them right? getting you a fair amount of damage...so they might aswell be stunned.

I think the concept of a stun removal on such a short cooldown is a tad strong, but on a mage it's no big deal..they really are squishy when you get to open up on them.

Anyway you'll find it hard to get anyone to agree it is overpowered, people have become use to mages, we've all accepted they are very strong, for example...if Blizzard were to suddenly say Hand of freedom will remove stuns like it did in wotlk for ret pallys the outcry would be insane, because aside from our WoG offheals no one takes ret serious, so anything that sounds strong would scare them.
