Or, perhaps, give relief to low population servers?
I quit the game a few months ago after playing off-and-on since 2005 and just recently made my return. When I logged in at "prime-time" (server time) I was surprised to see only 30 people in Orgrimmar on the /who list. After talking to some people it has become apparent that our server has become a barren wasteland due to either a ton of people transferring off or quitting the game. I've heard it is near impossible to organize a raid, even through pugs, simply due to the low population. Character migration is what brought me and my guild to the server in the first place. I don't think that will help in this case though as it seems that many, many other servers are in a similar situation. I know Blizzard has said in the past they do not want to close servers but can we please get some relief? I really want to enjoy the game but the low population and having pretty much nothing to do outside of LFR/LFD is really making that difficult. I would love to transfer off the server but doing so, fully, would be a -huge- financial investment. Not just for myself but for anyone else who is in the same boat. I don't really want to commit to such a cost just to find out that its "no better" on a more populated server. What I'm asking is this: I would like to see a change made to the Character Transfer System to offer "bulk" discounts on services. You recently added the Guild Transfers, perhaps if nothing else it could be tied into that service. Barring this I would like to see a reverse-character-migration to happen on servers like mine. Let the low population servers migrate onto a medium population server, or a lowish-medium population server. That way would seem like a win for both sides: the low pops get to have fun again and the medium pops get even more people to play with. Thank you. |

Also: I apologize if this is posted in the incorrect forum. I haven't used the "new" forums yet and was unable to find a suggestions board like was on the old system. If this is in the wrong spot please move it

There are actually fairly equal numbers of low population realms as there are high population. I have recently heard talk of 30 minute queues some nights just to logon to Ilidan. I know Zul'jin has been a recipient of many transfers and is horribly crowded now. Proudmoore is packed in like sardines. Don't assume all realms are low population because nothing could be further from the truth. On these forums you can post a well thought out suggestion for change on the most appropriate forum. Complaints really have no place because they aren't useful in solving any issue. This issue would be posted in the General forum. |
I'm not assuming all servers are low. I wouldn't even venture that most servers are, or that most players are on low servers. However, that doesn't preclude me from asking for relief for the people who are in the same situation as myself and my servermates are. |

same thing is happening with bloodscalp , it is a dying server , and there is no way i ll pay to transfer my 10 85 , not at 25$ each so atm the only option i have is quit the game or wait for blizzard to acculy shut down some of the low pop server

The devs are aware of population issues and seem to have a plan to address it in the future -

That is the last we heard on the subject which was posted earlier this month. Big content patches as well as expansions tend to bring a large influx of players back to the game as well as a number of new ones. I'm not certain when we would hear of any such plans but it would likely happen closed to the release of Mists of Pandaria. |
