SWTOR download gone terribly wrong

This is what happens when you try ordering off Origin. A litle bit of backstory...
Origin took 30 mins to "complete" a digital order. Meanwhile, there was no record of us ever ordering, and after 5 mins, I tried again. Still nothing. So I tried a different method, which finally gave us an order history. 30 mins later, I get 3 e-mails saying I got 3 diff orders of SWTOR you: hello? Ashutosh: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Ashutosh how may I help you? you: hi, I had problems ordering SWTOR you: i ended up ordering it 3x you: can you please cancel the first two orders? Ashutosh: all right Ashutosh: I'll do my best to address your concern. Ashutosh: may i know your first & last name you: DS you: Order Number: ------ you: and ordernumber ------ Ashutosh: thank you D Ashutosh: Please give me just a moment while I look into this further. you: hi are you still there? Ashutosh: http://www.swtor.com/support/form ,you are advised to post your issue to this support team,they will look into your issue you: you cannot cancel my order? Ashutosh: i would like to inform you that this is handled separately by swtor team you: i thought it was a very simple solution you: oh ok Ashutosh: If you need help with anything else, please feel free to contact us anytime! you: you know you have an issue with your billing system you: it's technically not an issue with swtor Ashutosh: D whatever i could be,but they are the one who deals with this issue seperately you: I am on the phone with them and they said it's an origin issue not a swtor issue you: but i'm getting transfered again to another department you: inside swtor you: do you have some kind of supervisor? you: that I may talk to? I should also mention halfway between the conversation I was on the phone with the SWTOR billing people.

I don't believe this belongs in the WoW forums...
EA has horribafrickus support, and I've heard the same for Bioware. I've heard TOR support is a nightmare and the people who do it are plain stupid (Banning someone for saying "I'm 12 and what is this," for being underthe 13 yo restriction on having an account?). As bad a rep as blizz support gets, I've not really had any problems save for the shoulders I thought I had won in a raid but seems I didn't. Blizz reps at least know how to handle most problems outside of in game loot stuff. |

EA has always sucked. i consider them to be one of the worst producers of entertainment ever.

Times like this, you're glad blizzard reps don't need a language copy/paste chart to reply to simple questions and comments. :D

I still don't get why anyone would like that game anyway. A copy off WoW pretty much except worse support.

Does not belong on these forums, sorry. But most of us honestly don't care about flashy lightsabers and Force Lightning.

I don't believe this belongs in the WoW forums... Should be in Games, Gaming and Hardware, it'll be moved there soon by mods. Maybe the replies took ages 'cause he was using Google translate? you never know... |

You know, i wouldn't be terribly surprised about the google translate. Also, honestly, I wouldn't care much for lightsabers and what not either. Just a change of pace for my hubbeh. I'm sure he's sick of making alts and deleting them. You can only pvp so much I guess, and he's not that interested in raiding n e more. |

ON A SIDE NOTE THOUGH, I'd recommend that you put this in the technology forum, not World of Warcraft general discussion... I'm sure some would appreciate it and it'd also be respectful towards Blizzard.

thats what you get for buying an EA game
origin is just a crappy way to prevent pirating oh they need our online tool to play the games were just like steam! the problem? they suck at everything they do. Blizz has the right idea, cant play the pirated game if you keep patching it, fix a glitch here, add some stuff there and make it harder to steal. plus come on, you havent heard it called TORtanic? |
haha whoops. Oh well. I know the feeling. My best mate likes Star Wars so he wants to get SWTOR when it comes out. I'm ambivalent to Star Wars as a whole.
I have very little faith in privatization, especially in a small country such as mine. |

My Father had an issue buying it online off Origin too, thought they fixed that by now.
Also, this topic doesn't really fit in GD for WoW. |

Its at that point when people usually are starting to leave because unless you have a good reason to stay, you likely get bored of doing the same thing week in and week out. I got a PS3 on black Friday, and I use the crap out of it. I haven't got many games for it in general, but the ones I do have keep me interested enough for a couple hours of time wasting. and then there's Portal... which I still have yet to beat. What can I say? I got into it late. Didn't have a chance to download it until the "Learning with Portals" thing Valve did when they offered it for free on Steam for about a week. |

Downloaded fine for me, and I downloaded it 3 times on purpose. But alas, you are in the wrong forums and this will be deleted soon.

I had an issue as well, but it was my own fault to make that clear.
I went through this same process except I had pretty good customer support from the guy. I think you just got the wrong dude. And no I'm not at all defending EA. I hate EA. |
