Overall isn't a great indicator due to variance on different fights. Check out the encounters and raid formats to get a better sense of what's important to you. |

go look at the DS log charts, vast majority are dominated by fire mages

I think the top three are Arms War, Fire Mage, and Combat Rogue not in that order just the top DPS specs. Then after that most of the classes and specs are pretty close together of course all depends on the fight and gear.

I would say that rogues, mages, warriors, dk's, preists, locks, and pallies are all in a great place right now. That leaves druids, shamans, and hunters at the bottom of the barrel.
I would also go as far as saying that feral druids and hunters are the two worst by far but between the two of them it is very close. No bias towards ferals because it is my class/spec. Simply from a numbers standpoint they are far behind the others. |
I would say that rogues, mages, warriors, dk's, preists, locks, and pallies are all in a great place right now. That leaves druids, shamans, and hunters at the bottom of the barrel. Survival wise at least, I believe Hunters are in a pretty good place. |

Survival Hunters are doing quite well as raid DPS right now. Better than paladins in most fights, in fact. The stand out lows the melee druids and melee shamans. Every other class/role has at least one spec in a decent spot (though locks have the problem that which spec performs best is very fight-dependent). Aside from melee shamans and druids being too low, and mages and rogues being too high (and priests and warriors to a smeller extent) class balance is pretty good right now. Some specs however, suck.
Therefore, if you're looking to gear a new character, and don't much care what spec you'll be DPSing in, any class will do, but mage, rogue, priest, or warrior will do better. |

A quick look thru parses shows how classes are behaving very differently upon raid size and also from the ''elitist'' factor. I always thought the game should be balanced around it's best players. From there , others can strive to become as good. That said i'm not a big fan of the 99th percentile as the ''best specs'' can receive a lot of extra outside help in the form of not having to kite , gather , interrupt or even receiving full out buffs. On the other hand the 95th or 90th would probably be a good place to base our ''good player'' standard.
but w/e , too many charts for too many different skill and gear levels on too many different fights. The bottom line is if you aren't a frost mage or a bm hunter you won't look like a fool. And even bm can do ok on some fights. |
I would say that rogues, mages, warriors, dk's, preists, locks, and pallies are all in a great place right now. That leaves druids, shamans, and hunters at the bottom of the barrel. So that would simply leave ferals at the bottom.... Cool.... :( |

I think this is a list everyone can agree on:
[every other class] . . . . [class you play] |

Every time I've looked this tier, including right now, feral (attacking from the front) has been ahead of balance and elemental (some of whom have legendaries) on ultraxion average dps. I mean, feral's no combat rogue, but they're not in their own special basement. Plus feral can do lots of things combat rogues can't. But because it doesn't get reiterated enough, even the 5,000 or so DPS my spec is typically behind Mages is small compared to the old game. If we were still operating under the Sunwell paradigm, Hybrid DPS (except for Warriors, who never counted) would be lucky to break 30k on Ultraxion, not 40k. I hang fairly close to my raid's Fire Mage. |
