Could someone resolve an arguement?

A guild member of mine (not going to name any names) insists that I, as a warrior tank, need to expertise cap. He says that when I am parried, the boss's swing timer is reset and i get hit again for full damage, assuming its not blocked ect.
Isnt this whats called Parry Haste, and has been out of the game for quite a while? ive been raiding since ulduar and i have never been told i needed expertise. |

Doesn't happen anymore. You're perfectly fine without expertise if you don't care about squeezing out every ounce of DPS you can. Which likely isn't so much a problem coming from a tank as it is a problem of a DPS not pulling their weight really. Rare exceptions do happen, but few and far between. That said... yeah, getting some hit/expertise if you're constantly failing at 1-5% enrages will probably help take some pressure off. |

I believe you mean 2011! You dont need hit or expertise as a tank unless you are trying to meet enrage timers. Side nitpick - you do need hit or expertise if the encounter demands that you land a stun and that it cannot miss, or some similar requirement on any given spell/ability. They're RARE but they do exist. |
|
hahaha. Did he tell you you needed to defense cap too?
It's not all that unusual to get stuck in your old ways, though. Go easy on him. |
Or think having your attacks land is a damn sight more fun than miss, miss, miss, miss, miss, miss, WOAH A HIT! |

I'm disappointed that no one else did a ..
"Looks like he's putting you under the *sunglasses* microscope" |
now go read your patch notes.... all interrupts are off the GCD and do not miss any more |

Side nitpick - you do need hit or expertise if the encounter demands that you land a stun and that it cannot miss I would work on reading the English before you tell other people to read patch notes. R.I.P., "Oh crap, HoJ missed on that Shambler, OW MY FACE". |

He says that when I am parried, the boss's swing timer is reset and i get hit again for full damage, assuming its not blocked ect. In Ulduar you needed Expertise against parry haste. ICC you didn't. Plus, if you're ctc capped then even if they brought back parry haste then it's not as big a deal as it was b4 cap. But, the reason ICC stam stacking existed was cuz it wasn't needed. Stuns can miss. No-one cares! At no time does a boss need to be stunned (hint*that's cuz bosses can't be stunned*hint) Now interrupts on the other hand...the tank interrupting H-Halfus made the fight go EZ-PZ |
Booo... Captain Awesome fails at reading the troll. I said "at no time does a boss need to be stunned" not "at no time have they been needed". Stunning him was a fancy interrupt. -I hated that fight. As a warrior I never got to tank the big guy. It was always "Nose, can you grab the 2 in the back while we wipe for 3 hours due to standing in deathrune" Euliat: I didn't play vanilla. I'm a TBC baby. |
