Why i think LFG Satchels are unfair.

Like the title says. To me, this is not only one of the most unfair benefits for a tank/healer, but also one of the most annoying. Now i realise that i am also entitled to earn this 'Satchel of Exotic Mysteries' through LFG but come on! When is more DPS ever going to be needed to be able to actually earn it? The whole system was implemented so that tanks and healers would be more inclined to queue so that DPS like myself didn't have to wait so long.
Winning a flask, or a few gold i have no problem with, but people winning rare mounts that you would normally only get with extreme luck or constant grinding of dungeons is a little too far. I hear how people win the Raven Lord mount, which i myself spent months grinding on my main, by simply playing there class. It's like your punishing hunters, rogues, warlocks and mages for playing a DPS class and not playing a tanking or healing class. Not only that but it's bought out all the horrible players who normally wouldn't tank or heal. People who get some crappy gear together to queue specifically for these roles so that they will be entitled to the satchel. It may initially make the queue faster but when we wipe over and over because they don't know what they're doing then in the end, it makes it 5 times longer then it needs to be and 10x more frustrating. I don't see how it's helped anything, for me, it's just made LFG worse then it already was. |

Tanked of hundreds of dungeon, never get anything beside the one pet that already swarming over ah for under 100g
On other hands, when I que on my mage like this one, the que time down to 15 min from 30-40min. Works really well imo. On other note, I've been grinding raven lord both from dungeon CTA and heroic sethekk daily on my druid, since BC, never got it. Am I sad? Yes, but that's RNG. And solo-ing Anzu probably much faster and easier than tanking random dungeon with crappy group anyway. Basically I did probably 10x more grinding than you throughout out the time, so before you did half as much what I did, stop QQ-ing |
It's the same deal; you have an incredibly low chance to win a random pet or mount for having run a dungeon. Only it's random so you can't farm it the same way you would an actual pet or mount. I've never gotten anything other than Tank pots and flasks, and I don't have a tank - so really with the RNG still playing such a large role it's not really much of an issue, and it helps the queues move along. |

Yeah but you don't look at the drawbacks of the satchel. I've had it to where i get to the last boss on my tank, and a dps leaves causing me to not get it. Tanking and healing are both very strenuous roles that should get benefits. Don't get me wrong I do think rare mounts are a little extreme, but it's not like we can get 20 satchels a day. Not to mention alot of the time they are just filled with crap and about 80 gold. As a side note, you only get satchels when there is dire need for that role. I've had times when queuing as tank I didn't even get a satchel. it's neither here nor there.

Getting a rare mount in the satchel is pretty rare. You just happened to see a post today about some people sharing what they got in the satchel and some of those were very rare mounts.
It's an incentive for tanks or healers that has worked great. Would you like to go back to the days of 45 minute queues for dps? Perhaps you could pick up tanking or healing if you care about getting those mounts so much. Your queue time dropping to 10 to 15 minutes is not a 'punishment'. |

I would rather go back then get a crappy tank/healer who don't know what they're doing. My bad for playing a hunter, silly me.

And waiting half an hour for a group is better because...?

i've seen many posts about these people and it's today when i read one that i decided to say something. |

I get probably close to 8-9 satchels a week.. Have seen a total of 0 mounts or any other rare objects out of ~70 satchels. It's just an extra little incentive to get what is needed the most into dungeons to shorten queue times.
If you dont like it then role something that is capable of getting a satchel. I think it's fine how it is. |

because i get people who have been playing there class and know there class and we can have a successful run, not people who grabbed whatever gear they could find and queued up. |

OP so are you willing to go to 45 minute queue times for dungeons? I have no reason to queue as a healer past my valor limits and actually besides selling the BOE Items I have no reason at all to do dungeons on my healer or tank. If I didn't have a chance for a mount I wouldn't queue extra at all because 80 gold isnt worth the time.
The Bad tank/Healers would only get worse as the only people doing dungeons would be the ones who still need gear from them. Take away the bags you get less tanks/healers and lower quality ones. |

I very rarely see the satchel now even as a tank. Queue times for dps are way down, so it seems to be working as intended.

Is it even mathematically possible for DPS/Pure classes to get this satchel?

Yeah, it's a bit one-sided but, it does get groups going a bit faster. Wish Blizz could think of a way for DPS to benefit from it as well. Maybe have an extra sachel drop from the last boss that only DPS can roll on. At least you have a better chance of getting one that way.

The satchels are BoA so you can send them to alts. You can peek inside without opening it and send it to any alt your want.
IF you have the the 10 character limit on your realm and they are all dps and no tanks/healers thats your own fault. Also dps can get the satchel, but it is extremely rare as you need a huge dps shortage combined with a overabundance of tanks. (which of course just about never happens) The only time you're ever remotely likely to see dps able to earn a satchel is around 1-4 in the morning when few players are on (other then oceanic players on NA realms) |

Those 40 minute queues we had were a result of changes Blizzard made to healing and tanking. I'd rather they change things back instead of bribing people, and cheapening the effort people put into getting those pets and mounts the right way. |
