Happy Texas Independence Day!
Alamo Drafthouse? - the original one (though my brother nearly passed-out from excitement when he found out they're opening one in San Francisco)
Riverwalk? - the walk itself, which is gorgeous, not necessarily the tourist traps that line it.
I'm with ya on HLS&R, especially if the husband can snag tickets into the barbecue.
I grew up in Alief moved out of Houston because of the freakin' traffic. Austin is usually worse, though.
My favorite thing about Texas will probably always be the food.

Is that some sort of Festival similar to the Houston Rodeo, or are you talking about the Fiesta stores?
Ah it's similar to rodeo San Antonio with rides and games and celebrations around the city. It's not a store I'm talking about but I think I've seen one of those fiesta grocery stores. We use HEB too.
Only been to San Antonio once, and that was because my parents wanted to go for !@#$s and giggles. We went to the Riverwalk and a Mexican marketplace kind of thing.
Also!! George Strait is from TX... thankfull for that...
And PBR.. *dies*
