I am trying to determine if I have a FireWire port in my PC. I have looked thoroughly and can't find anything resembling a FireWire port. I would assume then that I don't have one but when I check my Device Manager there is a--

IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers
---VIA 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller

From what I have read online if this is in my device manager I should have FireWire. I am kind of confused and guessing what I read was incorrect. Can anyone clear this up for me? thanks

It is possible that your firewire port is just a header connection on your mother board. So you may not have a physical port in the back or front of your computer. But what you will have is a set of pins on your mother board that you that you need to attach a cable to.

I assume you've done a google search to find out what the the different types of firewire ports look like.
