I thought if you got the A. Pass you would be able to be in the beta for MOP. Am I missing something here ? I hope I do get to do the beta, but who knows what Blizzard is going to do ?

You will be getting into the beta if you have an Annual Pass. Don't worry. We just got the beta up last night and while we've already done some invites, we have a lot more to do.

If you want more information on the process, you can read the Beta Opt-in and F.A.Q. post we have here.

Here's the question I think that most pertains to you:

I am participating in the World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion; when do I begin testing?

We’re inviting Annual Pass holders in waves over the course of the beta test, and will be ramping up the number of invites we send as quickly as possible. We’ll be inviting Annual Pass holders based on several factors, including how long your World of Warcraft account has been active and when you signed up for the Annual Pass. Keep an eye on your Battle.net account and email for your invite to join the beta test.

Please note that our Customer Service department cannot help with flagging accounts for the beta and is not able to tell you exactly when you will be invited.

We're very aware that everyone is expecting to be in as soon as possible and we're committed to doing what we can to make that happen. We just ask that everyone is a little patient as we make that happen.

What about the ones that have been on here since day 1 and didn't get an invite? I'm only assuming that the ones that already got in (mostly fansites) are also people who have played since day 1, at least I really hope so based on this statement.

Oh yes, When are the waves coming out? It'll help if i know daily weekly etc.

I don't have a timeline to share with you at this time, but we'll do our best to communicate when these waves of invites happen; even if it's to help players avoid potential phishing scams. (When in doubt please check your Battle.net account.) We'll make sure to work on it on our end at the least and do our best.

Well, I've been playing since about... Day 7.

I play on a Mac, too. I'm not sure, but I tend to think that helps me get into the betas.

Yes, I'm sure that's what a lot of people are feeling. In fact, it's a phrase that's come up a lot in regards to this issue.

I don't think that's necessarily what took place here, though.

They don't add a hundred servers to support wave 1

What about wave 2 - 50? The point is they will need close to 100 servers to support 1 million beta players and I absolutely don't see them wasting millions of dollars to put up 100 new servers just for beta testing. That would be absurd from a company standpoint.

They'll absolutely need the servers. I would suspect they have them, waiting to bring them online as they need them. There's no reason to have the infrastructure to support 1m+ beta on day 1, when they don't need it at this point in time.

I'm pretty sure swtor didn't have 214 servers for their initial beta invite wave.

Well yes, but that's because SW's beta didn't promise over 1 million players beta access. At launch SW had 106 servers to handle about 1 million accounts.

I'm not trying to be a negative nancy here, I honestly don't see how on earth they're going to handle that many beta accounts.

I don't really think it's as big a problem as you do. swtor likely had a very good idea on the size of the beta they intended to run, and im sure that's the same with blizzard. I just don't think the servers will be a problem.

This would be a rather important information you all should have, I understand there must be some chaos going around, but this would most likely bring the flames down a bit.
All in all we do appreciate your effort and are confident you will fix this.

Neth, I'm sure a lot of us really appreciate you taking time to discuss these things, even though you don't have to. Don't let the angry mobs get to you! <3~

If there are any pre-law or legal types out there - is changing the wordage in a contract after it's been signed.. legal?

AND if..

The wordage is changed in the contract after it's been signed, does it make the original contract you signed null and void?

What about the non-Annual Passers who are being invited to the beta before Annual Passers? It seems a little backwards.

I can understand inviting certain groups of people (fansites, press, etc), but why are normal opt-ins being given priority over even a single Annual Pass subscriber?

The wording of the contract didn't cahnge. The wording of the advertisement changed. Totally separate things.

Quick question:

I'm an annual pass member. Do I have to dowloand the beta opt in before I can get the invite?

Seems theoretical, since they didn't change the words of the agreement (which is not a contract).

I'm a bit concerned. I just read a thread through the Blue Tracker on MMO-C.

This: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4247424825

The blue response was underwhelming to say the least.

Zarhym sounds short, frustrated and angry. Community managers of all people need to have better responses even to the things that annoy them and set an example.

I don't often post here on the forums, but that response left a lot to be desired and I chose a Beta thread that's open to express my thoughts (because I didn't know which is the "official" one) rather than creating a new thread.

Don't even start that up. You have to realize that the CMs are getting constantly hounded "Where's my invite?" "WHERE IS IT?" "I WANT IT NOW!" "YOU PROMISED IT!" countless threads being made regarding it. There was nothing about his response that seemed short. He closed that thread since there have been at the very least over 100 threads posted on this subject. Besides, I wouldn't blame him or Neth or any other CM that lost their temper over this. I'm pretty sure the GMs are getting countless tickets in too about this. I can only imagine the kind of phone calls Customer service is getting. ._.

Beta invites started yesterday evening. They JUST started. Just be a little patient.

I don't care WHEN I get an invite. That's not my point.

I understand that there may be tension, but they're used to dealing with tension and defusing it would work better if they directed everyone to ONE thread and shut down the others. :)

I've read their responses to other threads that pointed to others and weren't short in the slightest. This one seems so to me. That's my opinion, you have yours. The reality may be that he's not feeling angry at all, but that's how it came across to me. Maybe some other players, who will go and make ANOTHER thread about it because they got locked.

I understand there's a lot of stress, especially with the layoffs, but the response was different than their norm.

I'm pretty sure that almost 90% of the people who signed up for the annual pass were going to be playing WoW for the next year or more anyways, so stop acting like you were short-changed just because you weren't in the MoP within the first 12 hours...

The contract you signed was never changed. The advert and FAQ are not the contract.
