Why am I having trouble?

So, I've been doing the HoTs, I didn't cheat my gear level to get in or anything, I've been good about being legit with this character. I'm sitting at iLVL 357 as I type this, reforged and gemmed properly. My talents are fine as well, I think. My glyphs are perfectly fine as well.
I've been doing HoTs as Holy with a Pally tank and a few other guildies. Everyone is dropping down so fast I *NEED* to Flash Heal -> Flash Heal -> Greater Heal to keep them up, or I cause a wipe. The last HoT I did I healed 11 Million damage and was sitting at 9k HPS for overall. The only thing I can think of is the tank isn't popping CDs, but I'm pretty sure he is, and I can't find anything besides going through combat logs to find it, and I'm so lazy. HealBot hasn't been showing when he pops his CDs, either, so I'm kind of lost. Any tips for my gear/talents? Am I just a bad healer? |

Would that really account for the severe lack of healing? Like, it's incredibly frustrating to be doing absolutely no healing unless I'm doing Fh -> FH -> GH. I don't even know if Disc would be better that I could switch to that until I get better gear, or if I'm just bad at healing. |

Not to emphasize the obvious or anything, but it's obviously a new toon. If you are surviving HoTs with the gear you have, then you are doing great. I would focus on replacing your weapon and your trinkets ASAP. You will then notice a world of difference. You want intel as the prime stat on your trinkets. Do you PVP? Once you get enough honor points, you could replace the weapon with a pvp weapon that will be way better than that staff. But if you're able to run the HoTs consistently, something will drop for you eventually.
Remember that the people who said healing HoTs is easy started them with 378 gear from Firelands. If you're still wearing 333s, you are 45 ilevel below what the standard is on that gear. Was it easy to heal cata normals when you were wearing 288s? |
