If you love the game already, you should get it. It's graphically closer to what they originally wanted but couldn't reach back when it was first released. It has a hint system (which you probably don't need if you have already finished the game multiple times, but it's there), and a boss-rush mode (refight bosses one after the other, try to get your best time).
Graphics look beautiful, the 3D is decent but I only really turned it on when I reached a new area, then it went back off. Items are easier than ever; equiping the Iron Boots or playing the Ocarina is done through the Touch Screen; rather than having to open the menu, put the Ocarina on your action buttons, clicking it and playing it, you just tap the Ocarina icon on the touch screen and it pops up, ready to play. Plus the bottom screen has an ever-present map. You don't really need to use the menu screen nearly as often as in the original game. |

That game is half the reason why I'd ever get a 3DS. The other being the new KH game coming out for it sometime soonish.
I loved OoC, even more so when they made Twilight Princess as a sort of homage to OoC's art style. |

I have it. It's graphics are updated, but not by a whole lot. There's a lot of stuff they fixed for the better. The water temple i actually enjoyed. I had fun backtracking, because the iron boots issue was fixed. The game got a little easier i must say. On parts that are timed, once you fail the timer goes higher. I love the way the UI is handled. Everything is on the bottom and the top is reserved for THE GAME! the only thing at the top is the action button. The 3D adds alot of depth but tends to be a little more picky then say Mario 3D land. Its worth the money. This, Mario 3D land, and Mario kart 7 are the only games i got for 3ds right now, i hope the new 3ds zelda game they announced will be similiar to oot. Te hint system is great too. Just head over to the temple of time or your childhood house and it will show you how to do something. Its a nice way of letting the casuals in on the fun. The boss battle mode is also a nice addition.Buy it

It's good...but it doesn't really offer anything new if you've played Ocarina of Time before. The 3D is nice, but the game has control issues due to the limitations of the system.
Try to look around while you're fighting Gohma at the end of the Deku Tree dungeon, and you'll see what I mean. You have to use the stylus to enable you to look around, and then turn it off. Meanwhile you can't do anything. |

Originally you had to pause, go to the status menu, switch to your equipment, and switch out boots, then do it constantly until you were done. Now it's usable from the touch-screen. Imagine how it was in wind-waker, when the iron boots were able to be equipped to Y, X or Z |

Oh. I don't remember having to do that too much, but it's been awhile since I've played Ocarina of Time. I should probably pull it and Majora's Mask out again. Think I'd be going on my 7th playthrough >.>

i hate all forms of hand-held gaming. i love zelda: the ocarina of time, but i still have it and a working N64(although the controller is a bit worn out) You could always get a GBA emulator and use a wired controller to play. That might help make it feel more console-ish. |

Because it wants you to play Mega Man Zero. |

At the time I bought it, I did not have any way to play the Master Quest edition, and I really wanted to see how Zelda would look like in 3D. There also weren't many other games on the 3DS at the time and I got a free soundtrack. So, naturally, I don't see it being quite as high-priority to gamers as it was when I bought it.

I have the Master Quest Edition on the gamecube, so I'll pass on this. 3DS just isn't worth the investment for someone like me, who loves Zelda, but loves RPGs first. My DS currently makes me very happy along with my PSP.
Don't get me wrong, I love OoT to pieces and preordered it back in the day (I still got my Zelda T-shirt! :D), but it wouldn't be worth playing again when I have the original and the Master Quest Edition, which I still should play and beat. >.< |

I got it since I couldn't get my hands on a N64/original copy of OoT, and I honestly love it. :3 I say get it if you haven't played the original!
