Mage burst
You misunderstand the roll of a frost mage in a team. You crowd control everybody and stand in the back, with frost abilities to somewhat protect you, not too squishy. Not hitting for 10k crits with frostbolts on everybody, and keeping everybody 50 yards from you. |
Actually, thats not our role at all... our crowd control abilities are almost useless when the enemy team has a good healer who knows how to dispel. We have decent burst but horrible sustained damage. You also must be joking about us being not too squishy. If say a Paladin and Death knight can get onto us for about 5 seconds they can easily destroy us. |

^^^This.^^^ Our Shields and roots are only form of protection. We are squishy.(when we let them touch us). We do have incredible burst. and If people put themselves in bad positioning we can have tons of CC. I guess we are the *bad player* killers |

You make PvE frost mages everywhere cry. |

Frost has unparalleled control, top-tier burst and the best survivability of any spec of non-healer ANYTHING in the game. Something has to be reduced. It's either control, or burst. You don't get to have all three, especially considering a lot of specs don't even get ONE. |

And where are you getting that from exactly? You realize if any class had tons of control but crap damage your team would be extremely hard pressed to land a kill right? Take a look at how warlocks were at the start of this expansion. They had considerable control, were virtually unkillable but because of dispel and overall low damage output they were really struggling overall as a class. To the point to where only the top players could make the class work. Frost mages have always had high burst, and incredible control. It wasn't until MoP were they ever considered overpowered. Our burst should come down, but not to the point of having to choose between burst and control. Remove PvE gear, and you have a balanced class. |

Wrong. Frost only started having high burst when Trollcrawler decided to try and 'make frost PvE viable'.. and in the process, they completely borked it's damage in PvP. Frost's damage in Wrath was low comparitively. Was low in TBC as well. Their control and survivability were always high, but the tradeoff was a Frost Mage wasn't about to LOLWIZARD someone down like say, an Ele Shaman, Shadow Priest, or Destruction Warlock. Now, they've kept the control and survivability, and been given top-tier (one of the best 3, other 2 being Fire and Boomkin) pressure. |
/facepalm no. Shatter combos have always, and I mean always hit hard. |

Gear up, unholy is one of the few melee specs that can take on a frost mage and win. But frost mastery does need to be reduced a bit. |

Can we please get burst reduction on frost mages? They're supposed to be the crowd control in the team with low damage, not the "all in one" button. I don't think it needs to be nerfed, i don't want to sound like a jerk but it's really hard to justify nerfing something when it's someone with no resil (or atleast using an alt) complaining about how im assuming geared mages are blowing them up, ever eat a aim shot from a hunter when you're gearing up a clothie in pvp. What im saying is if you're not equally geared to another player you're more than likely going to get messed up |
