So, it has come to my attention that the Demonologist warlock has seemed to become a endangered "species" on this realm. So far, I have only seen five other Demonology Warlocks on both factions combined. Notjust the demonologist, but all warlocks seem to be dying out. Do you people have somthing against the warlock class in general, and just wont bother to try them? And to other warlocks out there, I urge you to at least attempt Demonology. Give the Felguard a chance and, I mean really, why would you not want to be able to transform into a demon for thirty seconds?

Warlocks are the least played class in the game however. No doubt getting nerfed in nearly every patch has something to do with that.

I am personally predjudiced against Demonology from the bad ole days when the spec frankly stunk. So I've never rolled Demonology even though I love Warlocks. I have an 80 Aff'Lock and a 85 Destro.

Now however I am personally offended that Demonology is turning into this roid-raging OP Spec that can tank Heroic with a glyph in MoP while my main spec Destro gets a Fischer-Price My First DPS™ redesign.

So yeah...I'm mad bro. Now is not a good time to try and get me to hop on the Demonology bandwagon, even if I could square it IC'ly which I really cant.

Well, to be honest, I started this character for a specific RP reason, and demonology just seemed a more natural fit for her personality as she is evolving. Tanking never even factored into it. That being said, though, I am actually enjoying it. Of course, I actually enjoy leveling a fury warrior, so evidently I'm a little strange. :P

Except that Ghostcrawler has made it blatantly obvious that he has no interest in making a warlock a tank. The video you saw was a fluke and will not likely happen when the game goes live. Can't make judgements from a beta.

Demonology's been a long time coming, however. Back in WoTLK, a Demo warlock was necessary for the spellpower buff to defeat some bosses in ICC. It was crap for DPS and required a stupidly complicated rotation, and I got to suffer through it for several months because it guaranteed that I had a raid spot every night when the other two warlocks couldn't be bothered to try it. It's finally seeing some buffs and turning into not only a good spec, but the best spec for endgame single-target stand-still fights when you can just blow up every spell you have on the boss.

It isn't really a viable PvP spec yet, but I enjoy it because it gives me several stuns and ways to get away from the enemy (and a crap ton of armor/moving fellfire) that destro doesn't provide, and I don't like relying on affliction's fears.

It's just one of those things. Love it or hate it, it's as much a part of the game as you are.

Yes GC said that he's not going to allow Warlocks to que as a Tank in the Dungeon Failer, and said that Demo's wont have the tools that a Prot Pally would have for Tanking. But its very clear that Demo is going to be able to do things no other cloth spec can do, and that is very specifically Lock Tanking. I will lay you odds we'll see a gimmicky fight or two in the new raids that will make use of this new functionality.

Dont get me wrong, I dont begrudge Demonology Locks their moment in the sun as the FotM. I have great respect for the diehards who have suffered and stuck with the spec since Burning Crusade. Demo got some big much needed improvements in Cata, and because of that we actually have people playing them again.

No, what I'm mad about is GC seems to have used up all his best ideas fixing up Affliction and Demonology, and had nothing left for Destro. So he's taking away almost everything we have, and leaving us with a mindless three button rotation.

One DOT, two nukes, one AOE spell, and two Ember dumps.

THATS what I'm mad about.

Don't worry. If the Warlocks in beta reach gold, every warlock will be a demonologist.

You could just be ironic.

My warlock, Sànguine, is Destruction, and I'm usually on him more than my warrior here. (Since my lock is the one with the guild, less boring on him.) I see TONS of Warlocks Alliance side on mine, I think it's just location and time of day.

Affliction in MoP currently feels terrible. There's no rhythm. The way nightfall/haunt works is incredibly obtuse. "Clunky" is the best way I can describe the spec. I don't mean that it is overly complex (I loved affliction during BC), it is just... ugly.

Demonology feels cool, but only because you put out ridiculous damage in meta form. When the damage inevitably gets nerfed, it'll be pretty boring.

Honestly, though, all three specs don't feel smooth at all. It's beta though, so they still have time.

Thing is that video made me excited about playing a Lock.
This guy I am posting on has been shelved for a very long time. I only bother to level him because of his alchemy.

Until now MoP has not been a very exciting thing for me. I've been looking at the Beta as the deciding factor in if I even bother to keep playing this game.

Then I heard about TankLock
I am now excited for MoP
I am biting my nails watching the progress bar of my Beta download

It looks amazingly fun and I think GC is making a mistake by not getting behind the idea of Locks Tanking.

If Locks can still do this when MoP goes live, even if they can't que as Tank for randoms I will be moving this guy to Wyrmrest and making him my main

because Demo Tank looks amazingly fun and this server is just fun to be on.

Fun + Fun = win

Honestly what I most love about Affliction is the AoE fears, the mobility and the snares. On my lock I have been running an Affliction based spec since the glory days of SM/Ruin. However! These new demo changes looks fantastic and I am thinking of dropping Destro for it!
