The Battle of Shadowsight Tower
Chapter 2 of my book, "They Call me Bad: Confessions of a Failed Cat Drurid."
Shad Shadowmyst: the eternal enemy. We met in Wintergrasp and have hated each other ever since. Actually, I hated him first. In those days, Cabal of the Dark Lady used to patrol that place. If you wanted to fish, pick flowers or farm, you had to defend yourself.
It's not enough that Shadowmyst has a gun, sees me when I am stealthed, knows when I am targeting him, and hunts me down in the middle of nowhere. Shadowmyst uses his many alts to wage psychological warfare against me.
I think Shadowmyst is behind a lot of the dirty tricks played on me, like the Alliance Shuffle. The Alliance Shuffle is when you see an Alliance guy fishing. Two Hordies attack Alliance guy. You pounce to help Alliance guy. Alliance guy saddles up and rides off, leaving you to fight against two Hordies in a battle that can only go one way.
The first few times it happened, I thought it was an accident, but after maybe 15 times, I started to get suspicious. Maybe I'm not as dumb as you think, Shadowmyst.
***How to Fight Shadowmyst***
1. zerg him with a confederation of bads. Just be sure your bads aren't secret agents of
Shadowmyst. Know your bads.
2. attack only when Shadowmyst is having computer problems. **Clue** he will be running in place, but it could be a trap. Be careful.
3. play anonymously on another server where he can't get you. Don't tell anyone. The agents of Shadowmyst are everywhere.
General Tulach: the General is aggressive and mean. What Tulach does is go around Tol Barad freezing and zapping anyone who is dumb enough to get near him. That would be me.
***How to Fight Tulach***
1. just stand there and let him do what he wants. Take your a@@-whipping like folks. You can try a few things, but why prolong the inevitable?
If Tulach isn't hanging around the graveyard when you rez, sneak off somewhere and hearth
back to Stormwind. Check with the fishing lady and see if she has a quest for you. Would you would rather be with the fishing lady or look at Tulach? Think about it.
Ishk: I ganked Ishk when he was AFK in Tol Barad.
***How to gank Ishk when he is AFK in Tol Barad***
Pounce on Ishk. Now mangle him. Keep mangling him.
Rip Ishk! Now mangle him some more!
He's still not dead, so now it's time to panic and switch into Bear. Go ahead and click on
whatever is lit up and hope he dies before Shadowmyst shows up.
Congratulations. You have killed Ishk while he was AFK. I hope you are satisfied with
yourself. When he comes looking for you, sneak through the portal back to Stormwind.
That's your prerogative as a Druid and a Bad.
Guess what. If you're flagged and you stop to relieve yourself in the woods, you have to accept whatever happens to you.
Drogh: Drogh challenged me to a duel near Goldshire. I burned all my cooldowns and hit Drogh with everything I had. That's when he turned around and killed me. Drogh was gracious afterwards. He said he won because of his gear, but we both knew what the deal was. I suck.
***Successful dueling vs Drogh***
Hide in the inn and don't let him see you. He can't challenge you if he doesn't know you're there.

Anyway, one time, during Wintergrasp, I ended up in the southern part of the battlefield. I went into one of the shops. No one was there, so I made a demolisher. I decided that I would win it for the Alliance by destroying the towers. Then the Alliance would accept me and buy my auctions and flowers. They wouldn't be ashamed to be in a group with me, or be seen near me in the city. Maybe someone would have me as their friend.
So I went rumbling off to the nearest tower. I would redeem myself. I was determined.
Things were going well as I approached the tower. So far, no one had tried to stop me.
I shot at the tower. I shot some more. I shot and shot.
"Um," I said into raid. "I think this tower is bugged. It's not blowing up."
"Which tower?" someone said.
"Shadowsight," I said.
"OMG you're stupid. That's our tower."
"Brrtiful you scrub."
"Oh no," I thought. "Oh please God no."
But of course it was our tower. Never mind the big blue flag on front. I tried to say I was sorry, but my words were lost in the blizzard of hate. It just kept coming as they poured on the scorn.
The raid leader rode up on his great war mount.
"Brrtiful," he said. "What are you doing? Get off that silly thing and let me ask you a question."
"Okay," I said. The raid leader was someone I respected. He had the best gear. He had helped me before, and I felt like this would all get sorted out.
"Can you really be this bad?"
Well, I knew what he meant because I was awful.
"Blue is good. Red is bad," he said. "We've been over this before."
"But..." I said.
"No buts, Brrtiful. I don't know how many times you have to be told."
"Please give me one more chance," I said. When you look at the map of Wintergrasp, there are all kinds of multi-colored dots. Who knew what they all meant?
Actually, I know a little bit about dots. For example, when you go to the movies with your GF, or your BF, whichever way you go, and you start eating that candy, Dots. Well, the different colors have meaning.
Yellow dot: secret love.
Red dot: teh HoTT. It's on.
Green dot: girl is the boss. You have to do whatever she says. Do not disobey her.
Black dot: forbidden love. What is forbidden love? Maybe you went to the movies with your cousin. Is that bad? Yes. No. Maybe so. I don't know. Don't fall into that trap. Stay away from the forbidden.
Now be honest with yourself. Deep down, don't you want the black dot? Confess. No wait, the green dot. Any love is good love. All the dots. Can't we all get along?
I explained all of this to the raid leader. He was quiet for a moment.
"Oh...my...God," he said. He started to back away.
"No," I said. "Wait."
"Get away from me," he said. "There's a reason why you're never invited to VoA. I can't defend you any more."
I wanted to ask him what VoA was, but it didn't seem like the right time.
"You don't belong," he said. "You know it and I know it. There is 20,000 gold waiting for you on the other side if you will join the Horde and get away from us, you retarded witch."
I was stunned. I knew I wasn't a front line player, but it never crossed my mind that they would pay me to leave. I didn't know what to say, and then it didn't matter because he kicked me out of raid and put me on ignore.
I left the battlefield in shame. I went to my favorite fishing place by Wintergrasp, near Icemist Village, but I didn't do much fishing. I stared into the water. It wasn't supposed to happen the way it did. My plans had crumbled into dust. I had failed.
Snow began to gently fall. I loved Wintergrasp, in spite of the bad things that happened there. It could be so placid. I was lost in thought. I forgot that I was still flagged, and didn't notice the Horde hunter walk up on me. Next thing you know, I'm getting my butt shot off. I couldn't take it anymore. I reached over and cut the power on the strip.
Everything went black, and mercifully, it was over.
Great read! Very well done!! i love the snow in wintergrasp <3 reminds me of home. and i must say, i've never tried dots! maybe if i did i would have continusoulsy had black dots and would have clued in.. the movies arent a good place to date. i can remember dreaming about yellow dots on my mini-map and waking up all excited to farm, and seeing red dots coming closer and closer, then waking with heart palpertations. I remember one nightmare i had about wintergrasp.. I was sitting at 10% health, waiting for the combat to drop so i could eat, breathing heavily from the battle i just barely won, or escaped from, unsure. then, in the corner of my eye... Tahal, the monsterous tauren death knight, was charging at me at full speed, bearing an axe aimed right at my head.. as he got closer and closer all i could do was stand in the hypnotizing path that was my fate. i stood up tall and tried to clear my eyes, not believing i was about to die. as i opened my eyes, last i saw was the steam coming from his snout, and his blood-red eyes, i could smell fresh blood and the smell of sweaty ox, and in the corner of my eye his arm swinging, then black. blackness. nothing more.
that is all.
Can't wait for chapter 3!!!!!
Its a high pop and a ton of world pvp, TB is always full and a horde guild pretty well owns storm wind all the time.
