Straight PvE dps go for orc (Pet damage, AP on use), worgen (1% crit), draenai (1% hit).

PvP go undead, orc, human, dwarf.

I don't really care about the facials... err... racials.
I just want the opposing faction to go /bow when they see me instead of /slap

The only bowing I do to Alliance, is when they gank/gang up on me, and my corpse is stuck in the unfortunate pose.

I will occasionally give a fellow hunter a /wave, but never a /bow.
And if your name is stupid, I will generally /slap you regardless of race.

PvE = Orc, Troll or Dwarf, Worgen
PvP = Undead, Human

Im happy with my hunter's race.

Worgen's make pretty awesome hunters I think in a RP experience and in both pvp and pve. You got the 1% crit and a built in sprint I have mine macroed to masters call when I get bogged down in pvp.

Male Night-Elf? Can never be taken seriously. As any class. Ever. Females? Not bad.

Female Orc definitely looks like they mean the most business out of ANY race/gender combo. You just can't beat the look of a female Orc when it comes down to that sort of thing. Worgens animations are shocking either way - If I rolled Worgen I'd have to buy Kalytha's haunted locket straight away to cover up those disgusting animations.

Orcs are good for BM pve or pvp, because of their AP/pet bonuses and the reduced stun duration (it does stack with the meta). Trolls are good for MM in pve or pvp because of the haste.

If you're looking for the best, traditional, ranged weapon animations, you really can't go past Male Dwarf, Female or Male Orc (I prefer the Female one slightly more), and Female Night-Elf.

Taurens got stomp, that helps every so often :)

Since you said you don't care about racials If you are not an elf, you'll be fine.

If I knew before, I wouldve chosen human just for PvP.

Otherwise I generally like the nelf race. So most of my toons are nelf.
