Is it possible to roleplay as a San'layn?

It is not. The San'layn were an organization of undead Blood Elves in service of the Scourge. You would, obviously, not be in service of the Scourge. Death Knights you play as are Death Knights of Acherus, an any San'layn would be slain on sight in Orgrimmar.

Doesnt matter. his point still stands. ESPECIALLY with Garrosh on the throne, they'd be killed on sight in any Horde territory. |

Sure, until the Kor'kron guards catch them. Im amazed they havnt murdered -me- yet. you ever talk to them as an undead? they're !@#$%^-s. All I can say is that even if you COULD come up with a lore subverting excuse, DON'T. Hey now, I'd just hate the character :P Edit:

No, the Death Knights of Acherus did so on Holy ground with the help of Tirion Fordring.
No, the Val'kyr are a special case regarding Sylvanas, and you've seen Garrosh's opinions towards them. Any other Scourge races would be killed quicker by a Forsaken than by an orc.
And you're implying the npcs would be that incompetent. |

Tho it's certainly not canon, even Wowpedia lists them as 'defunct' as an organization. Fact is, they were a specific sort of blood elves: Those that came under Lana'thel, who came to Northrend and subsequently turned into the San'layn. It wasn't just that Arthas killed a Blood elf and raised a San'layn. There's a very specific 'criteria' that needs to be fulfilled to be a San'layn. Second: Their leaders are all dead. They were all in the Blood wing of Icecrown. made no sense for Arthas to keep them elsewhere. Third: even if one of them escaped that massacre, they were so linked to Arthas, like the Val'kyr, that his death probably tethers them to Bolvar, or simply diminishes their power, making them little more than an undead blood elf (A particualrly old, weak, decrepit one at that), definitely not a blood sucking, winged vampire badass |
