Please comment! The only way this is going to get to Blizz is if it and it's concepts are shared and discussed widely and rationally. Please don't troll, it's not going to help and might hurt.

Personally, I wish there were MORE aspects of the game to help me display just how EVIL I am. I like the fact that our trainers are all in out of the way places, but I'd like to see it more over-the-top. I'd like to see guards get angry at our Demons, for example, like they do at Death Knights who first ride into Org/Storm. I'd like to be feared & shunned in civilized places, welcomed & embraced in places like the Undercity. I'd like to see my Reputation change depending on whether or not I had my Demon out.

I don't know. I rolled a Warlock specfically to be EVIL. I'd like to see more EVIL in the game.

whenever you are in a capital city, if you have your demon minion out, any Paladin may cast Exorcism on your demon. And children throw rotten fruit at you.

I would imagine having the general NPC population react differently to each class would take some major software re-writing. Honestly, my in city experience fares pretty low on my list of wishes for the game.

I love the evil in my Warlock and I imagine others that choose the class do, too. It's the primary reason why I don't play a Priest, I really like how they look with those wings out and levitate, but I don't like their connection with righteousness and hate their connection with religion. In fact, my character choice came down to a choice between Warlock and Mage and I picked a Warlock because, at the time, my friend played a Mage and Warlocks got free mounts.

The asthetics of a class really only impact a class' representation at creation, at least much moreso than at later levels. Someone is drawn to warlocks for their style/history at the character selection screen, and partly in early leveling stages. After that, hardly anyone continues or stops playing that class because suddenly they don't like the flavor of that class. You either like the class mechanics or you don't, and that's what primarily drives popularity. Nobody says upon level 50, "Damn, these warlocks are so evil, I can't continue playing one." Sorry Cynwise, but you're reaching too far this time.

I think you're right that the "evil thing" isn't a significant issue, but if you revisit the article you'd see he's testing out the thesis against the data he has available and concluding that we have insufficient data to make any definitive statement. Hardly a reach.

Soon enough we won't even have our trainers to connect us with our class.

I chose to be a warlock specifically because of the evil aspect.

I want more chances to do something like this: http://www.nuklearpower.com/2003/11/04/episode-350-first-impressions/

Did you even read his arguments?

Firstly, he specifically stated that it class aesthetic likely does not have an effect on end game or leveling numbers, and then backed that up with data. So why are you arguing against a point that he made with a point that he made?

Secondly, if this is a player's first character, they aren't likely to reroll if they don't like how a particular class is playing for them. They are more likely to STOP PLAYING ALL TOGETHER. A conclusion that was also posited and supported by Cynwise in his earlier articles.

Thirdly, I don't speak for everyone, but Aesthetics are an important part of the my choice in class in all areas of the game. I play my character because I like the anti-hero archtype, I enjoy Demonic and Elven lore, and I sympethized with Illidan and Kael'thas (before they both pulled the crazy card and got themselves deadified, which was kinda lame. We do need more sympathetic Warlock characters in the 'verse in my opinion.).
