They should make it Janeway.
I mean her reign marks the point where the franchise started falling and nearly died. That or ensign Sue. She needs to die. |

The villain is going to be Khan? And they cast Benedict Cumberbatch, who is quite possibly the whitest and most English man alive, to play him?
...I think I'll watch this movie just to see how that turns out. The back story of Khan? I am interested. He already got his backstory in a TOS episode, though. |

I'll give it a chance. My initial reaction is WTF, but I think JJ Abrahms has earned a bit of faith after how well he handled the last Trek movie.
I'm not even a Trek fan and I loved it. My friend Mel, who is the biggest Trek nerd, loved it more than I did. Gotta love a guy who can please both sides. |

Well what else can he do, he is just basically redoing all the more memorable Star Trek plot. I myself can't wait for the Planet Eater to be redon and remade into a big feature film. It have always been theorized that such a planet eater was created to fight the Borg.

The TOS is not irrelevant at all, the political climate have changed true but the outside threat IE Doomsday device is still alive and kicking doing it own thing. They will meet that, lets not forget the evil cloud thing that is wandering around also.
