Enh Shaman: Why am I always oom!?

I recently accidentally deleted my talent tree, so I re-did it. I think I did something wrong because I'm ALWAYS oom and have lower DPS. I wrote down the build in a notebook and copied it exactly, but can someone explain to me why I'm always oom all of the sudden? I never go below 90% usually.

as ENHANCEMENT shaman you're always Oom? That's very hard to believe.
First tell us what rotation do you use and is this pvp or pve you're talking about? in Pve it is literally impossible to be Oom as enhancement because you shouldn't really even be healing yourself the healers take care of that so I can only assume you're referring to PvP. In PvP Oom happens sometimes when you keep spamming heal on yourself but usually out of combat, when in combat if you have to heal yourself alot switch to water shield and it should restore alot of your mana back. |

Your enhance tree is right, but you brutally maimed your elemental tree in several ways.
Not entirely sure if you should go 3/3 in concussion, and 2/3 in acuity, or 2/3 in concussion, and 3/3 in acuity, but you should have call of the flame, and Elemental precision. Also you definitely should have unleashed lightning. This isn't going to fix your sudden mana problem you started having, but at least you'll be doing more DPS. |

I know. It's weird. And all of the sudden it just happens.
I'm only ever PvE. Rotation: Flame Shock Lava Lash Stormstrike Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning And the occasional Fire Nova Seriously, I never use anything else except for the once in a while I HAVE to heal myself. Which is almost never. Yet I'm constantly out of mana. I don't get it. At all. |

Ok first off talents drop Elemental Warding completely, drop Convection completely, get Acuity to 3/3 and put 3 points into Elemental Precision (you do a lot of nature damage so 3% for free is nice) now for the "rotation" first of all you shouldn't be hardcasting anything unless there's a hole in your "rotation" in most cases there should only be times when you use Lightning or Chain Lightning with 4-5 stacks of maelstrom present, i haven't PvE'd in awhile myself but i think its
Stormstrike->Lava Lash (5searing)->x5 Maelstrom Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning->Flame shock(only with unleashed present)->earthshock->unleashed elements->wolves on CD, and Fire Nova if there's aoe situations For the love of god don't spam spells without maelstrom because you will oom, that's not how enhancement was supposed to work, also i base my thoughts of you hardcasting because you're using Unleashed Lightning over Windfury Weapon Glyph |
1 of 2 things is happening 1) You are playing wrong and doing something like spamming spells without maelstrom. The fact that you have UL makes me wonder if you're hard casting with 1-3 stacks. 2) Unlikely, but the game could have not registered something like mental quickness when you specced. It's extremely unlikely, but stuff like this has/can happen. Respeccing out of your odd spec will probably fix it if that would be the case. Thing is, since your spec is so weird, and you're having mana problems when no other enhance does we have to assume you aren't playing the spec correctly which may result in draining your mana. You have just as much haste as mastery and that's just wrong. |

Frozen Power and Toughness are Pvp talents. Ok, so toughness has some limited usage for Pve but, its main usage is for Pvp. Replace those two with Elemental Devastation. Thanks to how Blizz has managed to force us to take mostly useless talents, you can then decide to use either 2/3 or 3/3 of improved shields. Neither are great dps but, are far more useful than your other talent options for Pve.
As for your resto choice of spark of life... debatable choice there. Ele choices, as for Reverberation... also a debatable choice there. The Call of Flame is far better imho for those times when you must do AE damage and it directly increases the dmg of our cursed totem, that is, Searing Totem. Regardless of my advice here, you can check www.noxxic.com for further advice on glyphs and talent choices, not to mention rotation and priority to get the last kinks out of your character. While this site is not a site for great details, it will cover all the basics you need. |

You never mentioned Earthshock in your rotation. This is alarming. Stormstrike will buff your next Earthshock and make it crit. At higher gear levels, the crit damage is really nice.
Dont forget about ES, it is a needed ability in your rotation. |

I do use it my bar doesn't make sense to most people, lemme explain flame shock lava lash stormstrike earth shock(helps me remember the order this way) lightning bolt chain lightning and unleash elements is on my top bar, i've tried putting it on the regular bar but it just confused me and i forgot about it a lot, so i have it on the top bar and click it instead. i just gotta have them a certain distance away from eachother or i forget the spell exists. :p but this completely fixed my mana problem aaaas for the talent build, can someone just freaking draw it out for me? i get confused reading it because i end up taking away points here and there and then don't know where to put them, etc. i'm really dumb, i know. :P |

Stormstrike Lava Lash Maelstrom Weapon x5 Lightning Bolt Maelstrom Weapon x4 Lightning Bolt with Spirit Wolves (with 4pc t13, although I always cast with MW4, even without spirit wolves out) Flame Shock with Unleash Flame buff Unleash Elements Earth Shock Feral Spirit Searing Totem if <5 ticks left Maelstrom Weapon x1 Lightning Bolt ^ our top damage priorities, in order (from http://elitistjerks.com/f79/t113391-enhancement_bis_gear_set_up_discussion_4_2_onward/ ) go download the shockandawe add-on. the CD timers and priority queue are life savers if you aren't used to doing things this way. as far as your spec goes, your DPS will always be low if you waste points in the resto tree. There are two 2nd tier elemental talents that are direct damage increases that you don't currently have. Frozen Power is useless as you never imbue your weapons with Frostbrand. Are you healing a lot? Because I never ever ever heal unless I'm in an "Oh crap!" situation. Any time you are casting something, you aren't melee'ing, which is how you regen mana. Anytime you strike something, you have a 40% chance to regen 5% of your base mana. You should really never be below 80%. In fact, you should almost never have to cast anything in a raid unless you are near-death, and even if you do cast a heal or a lightning bolt that isn't instant, it should be a .5 second cast or less. I know we are a "hybrid" class, but we don't have the mana pool to heal effectively and reliably. |
If you go to www.noxxic.com as suggested, the talent build is spelled out very clearly. You really only have 2-3 points to play around with according to your style of play. All of the enh choices listed on the noxxic build are pretty standard except for whether you take 2/3 or 3/3 in improved shields...That site is designed to be simple and concise for easy reading.
What universe do you raid in that you never use fire nova ? While it may not be a great AE it is certainly better than none at all and most of us use it every raid... Ultrax trash... Morchok trash... Yors trash...Boat/Warmaster... Spine... Madness... not to mention dungeons... |
