I don't like account wide mounts.

Mounts and pets are completely different. They are pure vanity items. Even during the next expansion when pets can be combat pets, they are still somewhat of vanity items. Not all are going to partake in pet battles. Honestly, I've seen more attempts by people trying to ninja mounts than I've seen ninja gear. Including while farming Tempest Keep for Tier 5 on this toon and some others. You're misreading my intention though. What's the difference between the universal mount/cheev/etc. argument and the paid class change argument? There really is none. It cheapens alts to the point where someone can have all the rewards and none of the play time. There's no real reasoning or commitment to alts but levelling and AFK'ing in a major city showing off your best mount and best title. That doesn't lend itself to a promising levelling community, either, especially where newer players are concerned. If someone switches mains, I'm all for flexibility. Having said that... sacrificing a mount from one toon to another implies some degree of actual commitment to an alt. I'm not entirely against universal achievements either, I just think universal achievements need to be VERY carefully implemented. However I think that universal mounts are a horrible idea for the game as a whole. |

I dont see what the huge issue is, So what you see a low level toon with an epic mount well that just tells me that they have a Main who got the mount or the achievement. My mom always said "quit worrying about what others have and worry about yourself." Maybe you should impart upon this wisdom. If I see a level 20 with an Epic Mount I say good for him/her. And go on about my day.

Those two things aren't similar at all. Paid class change has nothing whatsoever to do with account-wide mounts and achievements. The thing you seem to be continuously forgetting is that achievements, titles and mounts are purely cosmetic items. Nothing more, nothing less. An achievement, mount or title is just a simple indication of "yes, I did this particular thing." It has no functional reward or benefit to any character. The time lost proto drake is functionally no different from the cheap little wind rider. Someone with the title "Destroyer's End" has no functional different from a person without a title at all. Your character class, however, is unrelated to these things. Your class is the core of your particular character, it is not something you work hard to "achieve." You can roll another character of another class at any point in time. And these characters will have different play styles. You have yet to convince me that there's a reason why the mount that I, personally, earned by farming, shouldn't be available to me. I've put in the time, I've done the work, I just want the ability to use the PURELY COSMETIC item no matter what character I'm logged into at any point in time. I do not feel that my hunter should be able to transform into a bear and tank dungeons just like my druid can, as that is something that isn't purely cosmetic. |

A level 62 could never ride Ash's anyways. It still requires you to have epic flying. Any epic mount requires epic flying on a character regardless. In many cases people sometimes have the alt cap which equates to 55kg just in epic mount training. So its a really a pick and choose if you truly want that mount on your alt or not.
