How's Medivh?
Does it have to be though? Immediately, I'm thinking of realms like Tichondrius, where that guy gave away millions of gold for transmog contests. We can find ways to attract people to server that aren't the obvious "raid better" answers - that draws a lot of people to a server, but, they don't really create a community like we used to have. |

From a hardcore point of view, I can see Xeonn's point, however, I do think you bring up a good point as well on the fact there is more that could be done to attract the more casual base of players.
(A transmog contest sounds pretty awesome to me!) I know there has been a lot of interest on horde side with some of the older content raids that guilds like Order of the Aegis have been hosting. It's interesting to see them cater to those who have wanted to enjoy older content, which could be a selling point as well for either side. |

Though there were a few larger guilds both Horde and Alliance that left before them Medivh horde never fully recovered after Black Blood Battalion left. (Drivel - former Supremacy that left server in 2009)

we need to become more attractive some alli players are going to have to play a litttle more horde because 20 to 1 well who is attracted to those odds we need to raid more host contests maybe set up rigged pvp matches 20 vrs 20 alliance and horde at a place say ruins of gil or scarlet ruins heck the outside of scholomance while we are at it make it all ppl have pvp flags on no rezing and last man standing controls the spot it will be like more tol barad and wintergrasp but with much larger numbers imagine that it would bring some people to medivh as well as bringing back and keeping returned players i want medivh to be what it used to be the BEST

Medivh is not dead, regardless of those who would tell you otherwise. Medivh is in the same decline as all the other servers.
1. End of Expansion 2. Summer 3. Final Raid has been out over 6 months. On top of all this 3-4 very good raiding guilds have quit or xferred. HOWEVER, that does not mean Medivh is dead. Medivh will see a huge spike in population in August when MoP is released. I can almost guarantee it. Also, many exceptional Raiders are stepping up to try and take the place of guilds like Tris, TD, and Shade. I and many other raiders started our guild <Immersion> specifically for this purpose. So go ahead, say Medivh is dead. My guild is going to show you all that quality players can still be found here on Medivh. ;) |

Except I don't think it will BE in August; admittedly I had said "August at the earliest" for months, until they made the announcement for the release of the cinematic. My best guess now is early September, at the earliest. |

I believe that Medivh isn't dead by any means, but this server is not what it used to be. The game has changed alot since they hey day of this server, and what you have to deal with is that a lot of us are saddened by this.
There were a lot of GREAT personalities on this server who posted on the forums and talked in trade and organized pugs, but they are mostly gone or transferred away. This server is like a bar that used to be in a hip part of town and had great bartenders, but now the cool bartenders quit and moved onto better bars, and the neighborhood kinda sucks. Basically we're like Detroit. |

I don't see how carrying people to a Heroic Madness kill would benefit the server, we need to attract quality players not people looking for handouts.
Medivh will never be the way it once was, the only thing that will help is more guilds clearing content in a reasonable time frame. I stopped playing months ago when we decided to take a break until MoP. When I checked WoWProgress yesterday there has only been 1 other guild to kill Heroic Madness since then and I was honestly shocked... |
This is true. It was a cool thing I saw another server doing; a cool thing based on folks who actively have good reputations among the server and it's people and it was just the kind of "cool thing" I thought would be worth mentioning in thread, because instead of cool things, there's a lot of "WE NEED MORE RAIDERS. Medivh will never be the way it once was, the only thing that will help is more guilds clearing content in a reasonable time frame. This is true! Now, how do we bring more people into the raiding flock to have more guilds clearing content in a reasonable time frame? I stopped playing months ago when we decided to take a break until MoP. When I checked WoWProgress yesterday there has only been 1 other guild to kill Heroic Madness since then and I was honestly shocked... At first I was like "NONE OF THIS MATTERS" but then I stopped crabbing and actually read! Why did you take a break? What made you feel like you wouldn't be missing anything if you didn't play for months? Is your guild not running a raid team at the moment, or have you all taken a break? How many people will you see come back for Mists, do you think? Will you need to recruit if some don't return? Do you have a roster deep enough that you won't have to? If you have to recruit, where are you going to look for your people? We have to accept that Medivh's population is low and waning - that Cataclysm's raid content wasn't exactly puggable up until Dragon Soul - and that there are serious guild/raid leaders quitting because WoW is an eight year old game. Can we also accept that Cataclysm's a great time for new players to grow up into the mechanics that we've known for ages? That there's an opportunity to find people who might want to raid, but don't quite have gear? That "THAT IDIOT" in your last BH run may very well not know that agility weapons are BAD for plate dps, because "I tried this death knight out and there's agility on their plate armor wtf!" Honestly, what can we do to improve the state of the server, BEFORE Mists releases and we have people return for the new content? |

Most of our raiders have crazy schedules during the summer which is why we took a few months off. The quality of raid content or the state of the server didn't really have anything to do with that. We are starting back up and plan to raid well into Mists.
As far as what we can do? They only thing that is going to make a difference is if the raiders that are still on Medivh buckle down and hammer content in Mists. There really isn't anything you can do until then, I mean its the end of an expansion and D3 was just released... it should be expected. I personally think you are asking the wrong question. I think it starts with... "What can I do to improve myself as a player?" And lets be real... there are no high end guilds left on Medivh, that went out the window when Tris quit. Can there be one in Mists? Absolutely, there will be players returning and looking to smash through content. On top of that it just takes a little effort to be that player people want to raid with. You don't see pugs anymore because nobody wants to spend the time to group a bunch of morons together for a wipe-a-thon. ICC spoiled people and made the average raider lazy, everyone knows this but very few have broken free of it. I'm looking at WoWProgress right now and I see at least 10 guilds that have people that I KNOW have the potential. If you are part of a 5,6,7/8 guild then talk to your guild leader or raid leader and find out what you can do as a group to bring you to that next level. This is something that we do all the time, always look for ways to improve as an individual as well as a group. On the same note if you are okay with that progression there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But a server full of guilds in that boat is not going to attract new blood. Thats the hard truth. I know some of the previous suggestions in this thread were made with a good heart but we gotta be realistic. PvE progression is what drives a servers population, that is a hard fact and you can't get around it. Thats my 2 cents, love it - hate it - troll it. |

I must admit, one thing that has tremendously improved in Medivh is this forum.
I had almost lost hope, but the realm pulled through. One step in the right direction and maybe a hint on how to fix things? |
I must admit, one thing that has tremendously improved in Medivh is this forum. Because Aeona isnt here to report EVERYONE's posts on every fricking thread trying to get them delete. |

Thank you Aeona?
Mission accomplished. |

Well the brightside is that there's more room to stretch your arms here! Plus less competition for rare spawns. AH might suck a bit more now but I never really used it much anyway.
And actually I can't name more than five or six people max that left the server that I didn't want to run over with a truck. Medivh went from a metropolis to a cozy southern town full of strangers doing illicit drugs in the cotton fields. I'm ok with this. |

Kind of good that people are leaving because most are just mean to everyone and should just go to a realm full of people like that. I mean if you want to do PVP just que by yourself or find the couple of people on the realm. :)
