Look what I found!
Human Symbol from WC1 http://www.wowpedia.org/File:Humans.png?c=1 Alliance Crest http://www.wowpedia.org/images/f/f7/AllianceCrest.png And last but not least, the banner we all came here to see and what may answer what Kingdom of/Alliance of Lordaeron means! The WC2 Lordaeron flag! http://www.wowpedia.org/images/2/2f/Lorderan-flag.jpg Now, lets examine this. On the top left we see a Silvery Moon which I believe represents Silver Moon (Duh), this makes sense because Quel'THalas is on the continent of Lordaeron. Now on the top right we see a little charm with a symbol on it. Now, what does that symbol refer too? Well I know another place we can see it. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/media/artwork/wow-races?view=&keywords=worgen#/worgen05 That's right! It's the Gilneas symbol! (The real one. Not those crappy scratch marks) So that's two of the Subcontinents of Lordaeron. Now lets look at the bottom left. You can see seven stars, most likely representing the seven human kingdoms. Now what does this mean!? One, Blizzards naming policies suck! Two, Lordaeron, Alliance of Lordaeron, the Kingdom of Lordaeron, and the "L" most likely refers to the continent and is not necessarily the name of the kingdom but the landmass. This means the symbol (Stylized "L") can, potentially, be used to represent not only the ruling governing bodies or the continent itself, but any organization founded by them, including the Alliance (of Lordaeron). I earned a cookie. |

Interesting thing I just found that I'd like to note. If you look on the bottom left side of the map of Stormwind there's that same crest with the mace, shield, and sword but the shield doesn't have a Lordaeron symbol and instead has the Lion crest.

Yay cookie!
Interesting thing I just found that I'd like to note. If you look on the bottom left side of the map of Stormwind there's that same crest with the mace, shield, and sword but the shield doesn't have a Lordaeron symbol and instead has the Lion crest. That is interesting. Almost imply that the Lion frond and center is more of a Stormwind thing whereas the L represents more of a human thing. Surprised no one is debating my findings. You think one of the (other) lore geeks would have added their 2c. The cattle prod might have something to do with it... |

Again though, at this point the Alliance has no kingdoms on the continent either.
I almost feel like the Alliance should be a different organization completely. I mean, same Ideals and all, but it's just not similar to how it used to be. It's gone from 7 human kingdoms to one. There are more non-human kingdoms than human, and that was something the orginal Alliance never had. I still wish we could get an answer on why Stormwind is where it is. |
Pass, unless of course you mean the Horde is along with us ^_^ |
You might have to explain that one. You mean the Horde being part of the Alliance? No. It's just the Alliance of Azeroth. |
