Known hacker, and <Bloodlust> GM Vengefulx
|
|
Hello, i would like to raise awareness of a person known as the guild leader of Bloodlust. Vengefulx is a known hacker, and ip scanner that has recently been asking members of his guild for their battle.net emails and skype info.
First I heard of this when a good friend of mine named Ykillme joined bloodlust, the moment he got in the guild he was asked for his real id info and wanted to skype with him, I told him to just ignore him and leave that guild, and he did, everything went all fine and dandy. More recently, a well known level 70 twink rogue named Polvo had been hacked because of said note "He left my guild, and now he's going to pay". I confronted him today and not only did he threaten me, but he did report me for reasons that i did not commit to doing, i have screen shotted most of the conversation and i will post the highlights of it if possible., Warning, me and him alike used very vulgar language so be advised, if more information is needed i will try my best to aquire more. (i know polvo personally and for a fact i know he doesnt talk like the person on his account) Arathor's Favorite Warrior, -Tappen |

You can't hack someone's world of warcraft account by adding them to your Real ID, or using skype to talk to someone. =( You would be suprised what people can do, using proxy all you need to do is find a persons email and it will scan through everything bound to the email then will show all kinds of info, like skype and facebook, this also includes world of warcraft, and through skype you can run proxy servers to scan peoples ip address to shut down their internet or anything he has logged on with his computer. (this isnt news for me, or several other people on arathor) |

some kid named vengefullz used to be on my server as the gm of a guild named Demolition, i dont know if its the same guy but he also hacked severel people. (our server is small so once everyone heard about how he stole accounts he got harassed off the server in less than 3 weeks)

After taking a serious consideration, i have come to the conclusion that Vengefulx is a threat to the realm of Arathor. The consistency of hacking needs to be stopped. The significant impact on the players of Arathor, thus, have lead us to this.
My theory: Vengefulx has hacked countless numbers of players on Arathor; players that have been hacked include (character names) Polvo, States, Ykillme, and a priest that Tappen previously mentioned. He has also hacked many other people who are now refugees of Arathor, still trying to obtain their account back. He does this hacking using social engineering. The act of social engineering is basically tricking someone to obtain what you desire. For example he easily gets their real id by being friendly with them and then later tricks them into giving him their secret question. I strongly advice anyone of Arathor to AVOID the guild Blood Lust in general due to the gm hacking and having many toons. My Proposal: This is obviously the main issue here, how to stop him. This task presents a very difficult stage. The hacker , Vengfulx, is obviously using a VPN or a Proxy to hide his own ip when he logs into someone's account. Meaning it is very hard for Blizzard to prosecute him when they can't prove it his him at all. Our best thing to do right now is to have enough evidence such as screenshots, recording, or anything to find Vengefulx guilty of the treason he has committed to the players of Arathor and present this evidence to Blizzard. -Runescape Sexy Hot Ret Pally. |

This is news to me, but if he is really doing it I hope he is stopped. Although in all in honesty, everyone should just have an Authenticator. It's free for mobile and not hard to use. It would bring an end to 90% of all account hacking that is done.
besides that great post and GJ creating awareness. /bump |

It would be nice for you to realize a couple things:
Everything your saying is false. Your the kid in the trade chat yesterday who kept talking about hacking but didn't have a clue what you were talking about, so let's review: You cannot 'hack' someone's IP. You can DoS it (Denial of services), or you can DDoS it. A DDoS means multiple people are doing it, and a DoS is just one person. All a DoS does is send multiple packets to someones IP to flood it and shut it down. On another note, you cannot obtain information/logins from an email unless you have keylogged/keystroked, or ratted the user. A proxy is just a hidden IP address btw, mostly used to get out of hacking attempts/recover accounts easier (rs).... |

I completly back up all of these posts 100%, Vengefullx is clearly a hacker. I have no questions about it. Im begging for something to be done about him, especially because I personally used to be on his real ID, months ago. Tons of tickets have been put in about him, and he remains on the server. This guy not only hacks, but he constantly is spamming people in whispers to join his guild, I suppose so that he can hack them. Personally I don't enjoy this in my gaming environment. I also don't care for the fact that numerous people, all paying 15 dollars per month to play this game, have to worry that a REPORTED hacker still has the opprtunity to invade their accounts, or their friends accounts.

Already know how I feel about it. /bump

He could only get your password if you gave it to him or registered on a site he made (which is your fault). Use an authenticator for more security.

Yes, He's asked me if he could get on my account during vent and i said no and he kept trying to push me til i just left vent i would like to know if my account is safe.
Plus, Vengefullx is indeed a hacker. We have to much proof that he is. |

You can't be hacked unless you loaded a malicious content or registered on his forums.
You're all scared little 11 year olds who have no idea what your talking about, and blizzard will even back me up. /Closed, once again |

Many people know the facts here, reguardless of your valiant defense for him, the truth will come out.

I'm not defending him, I'm just saying that there is no way he could have just 'hacked you'. May I need to say more, I will. Blizzard will back me up. I've programmed Lua for 2 years, Java for 6, PHP for 7, and .net for 3. I know how hacking works/processes and am surprised that you are not getting what I am saying.

Reverse engineering isent hacking technically, but it is the same thing. He gets personal information out of people who unwittingly find him as just a friendly person who is trying to conversate with them, then uses the information to obtain their accounts. Most people who are falling for this trick are kids who's parents pay money every month for them to play this game. Yes it is their fault for giving him said information under the impression that he wants to befriend them, yet it dosent change that what he is doing is wrong and needs to be stopped.
