'The Night Watch' guild?

even though there are no vampires in WoW? Then they should say San'layn in their MRP, and be prepared to be attacked by guards left and right. A member of the scourge hanging around in the tavern and openly accepting vials of blood from people? Maybe I'm thinking to heavy to the lore here, but I can't see this flying. Citizens would report her, and the guards attack her. She seemed to comfy, strutting through town and into the bar. Just my two cents. At least she's not sparkling? (I hope) That's what I was thinking. You see a lot of naughty things going on there, and conflict always makes rp interesting. There's a LOT trickling through. Insane Mages, Evil Death Knights, Demons, Cultists so on and so on. |

The whole concept of "guards attacking" is pretty silly. It was my understanding that that's exactly why the guilds exist. To give them a rational reaction, in order to properly strip those other RPers who pretend guards don't exist of their excuse. At least, that's the goal and purpose. I know for a fact it's rarely met and simply causes more issues in the wrong hands. |

"The Night Watch" is also a famous painting by the Dutch master Rembrandt.

The whole concept of "guards attacking" is pretty silly. Usually "Guard Guilds" are ignored because they attempt to become something of an RP police, and, in my experience, they take certain things poorly. On Moon Guard, the one big guard guild, The Stormwind Guard, was never well liked, because they went too far with it. In RP, authority figures only have authority if the players consent and agree to give it. It's a thin line to walk on, but it's possible. The best way a Night Watch guild could work is by catering more to the militia aspect instead of the law enforcement aspect. |

I believe that is how the in-game Night Watch is supposed to act, so ideally it should work that way anyway. |

They also do some law enforcement, in game. That is, the Watch headed by Ebonlocke. |

That might have been the original idea behind guard guilds, but I don't find that they do much more than try to randomly dictate to people what they can and can't do and usually try to abuse their power. To that, I can agree, but that's not saying the concept itself is bad. It's just very rarely if ever executed properly - and when it is, it tends to be by an individual, not a group/guild, meaning they only get so much recognition for it. I wouldn't give more than half of them the time of day either, yet I'll never speak down about the idea of it. I'd be verge to hypocritical if I did that. (Granted, I've never been inclined to police anything like that, and make a point to avoid it for the guild's sake, but we -are- iconically quite similar to the "guard" NPCs for our race.) |

Five moos. How's season 2? And...I saw a guild called "Darkshire is Burning" recently. Maybe ask them? I can't think of any Darkshire specific guilds on this server that I've seen. |

Five moos. How's season 2? The first season stuck to the book almost perfectly, but two was a little obnoxious in changing the plot a bit. Most of it was minor details, including one name change that I can totally understand, but even though it's been a while since I read A Clash of Kings it's still pretty noticeable and it irks me. That said, can't wait for season 3. A Storm of Swords was definitely my favorite book thus far. |

Darkshire/Duskwood RP has gone down the toilette ever since <The Borderland Coalition> Left the zone and it's only getting worse.

Darkshire/Duskwood RP has gone down the toilette ever since <The Borderland Coalition> Left the zone and it's only getting worse. In all honesty I didn't really even like it then. |

It would be nice to see it cleaned up again. An opposition force, be it guild or group, could do that. It's a clean up that should be kept IC however, going in guns blazing OOCly telling people they can't do this or that wont work. (Even if they probably can't do this or that.) The opposition would need to be prepared to be bombarded with a lot of OOC drama and God mode. Which is probably why everyone who has gone over to try, gives up and leaves the area never looking back. I would like to think one day a group will come in that can wade through all that and succeed in making Darkshire appealing to hang out in again. |
