How to get your RAF mount immediately!

If you are creating your own account, or paying someone else to open the account, signing up for three months via credit card wont do it, blizzard likes to think that we will cancel our subscription, take the mount and thumb our pixelated noses at them. The trick to it is to go to the store http://us.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=110000004 buy a three month game card, apply it to the RAF account (assuming the accounts are linked successfully) and Voila you should have both your free month and the mount. I hope this helps clear up some confusion and saves some crappy calls to blizzard billing. Thanks to Dewclaw whose original posting from 2011 provided a lot of the info.. thanks man you were a blessing!!

Well, this isn't a deep dark secret, Val :)

The time has to be actually billed/credited to the account before we can award the benefits.

Time cards do this instantly, subscriptions will - eventually, once they bill.

If it isn't a deep dark secret how about you put it right there on the how it works page? Some people feel seriously ripped off. Why else are the forums full of people asking questions about things that could have easily been explained in the first place to avoid confusion and save people having to call billing or search through the forums trying to find the answers?

Because most people don't read FAQs, which I'm sure it's explained in there somewhere.

And the first step to learning is to ASK those questions, not be rude and snide about it.

You — and all other veteran players — will be able to redeem this item once a recruit account is charged for 60 days of game time.

Payments provided by Credit Card, PayPal, or Payment One will not process until both the recruit account's Starter Edition time and 30 day credit expire. That is, should your friend or family member pay for a subscription via one of the methods listed, it will be approximately 30 to 40 days before your account qualifies for a Recruit a Friend mount.

It is right there on the how it works page. You get the mount when the account you recruited PAYS for 60 days. If you set up a recurring subscription you don't pay until your card is charged. If you buy a 60 day game time card you've already paid.

How are people feeling ripped off by getting exactly what they were told they would get when they were told they would get it?

Because people do not read the FAQ's, that is why the forum is full of questions ;)
