My point was that you still can do it by not putting any of these things on your action bar and never using them. You simply can't prove to other people that you did it.

Not quite. Talents are explicitly allowed. (Questing or grouping, however, is out.) I actually haven't given up -- as I've recently mentioned in the main General Discussion forum thread (the one linked to in the OP), I'm actually half way through level 84 now, and I've never used any abilities other than the ones I had before 5.0.4. (Despite the temptation to do so.) What makes it less of a challenge now, actually, is the incredible gain in my mana recovery rate since 5.0.4 landed. I pretty much CAN'T run out of mana now. That, combined with the fact that it now takes HALF as many XP to get from level 84 to level 85, means I might actually be able to pull it off and get to level 85 before MoP makes level 85 irrelevant. |

Woo hoo! I'm going to make it to 85 before Mists of Pandaria goes live!
I'm less than HALF a bubble of XP away from 85 right now. I'll probably be posting updates on the main General Forums thread (the one I linked to in the OP). |
