Hello, ive been out of the game for a couple years and have a question about raiding. I looked at a few websites that listed top damage dealers for various fights in raids. As expected, I saw Rogues, Locks, and Mages topping the charts in almost all the fights. My question is if a DK is not tanking or off tanking, is our DPS good enough to earn a spot in raids?

DK does fine as do many other melee. Frost and Unholy are pretty equal though Unholy with Gurth has a chance with procs to be untouchable for frost. As far as Melee atm. Rogues with the Legendary can gain a proc that is almost godly when coupled with other CD's. Arms Warriors are beastly to and can utilize Gurth quite well. Many Locks and Mages are still using the Legendary. Keep in mind that if you compare the damage done by the caster Legendary staff compared to some Melee that use the 2h'er from Madness you may find that some like Unholy DK's get as much damage done from Gurth as a caster can Terac with both getting millions done by their procs.

Assuming all players are equal. The fights have been toned down what they could to allow for all classes to be used. There are many classes that are more or less equal with a few being far ahead depending. I found it interesting that you didn't list hunters in your tops. The few you listed can be lifted by their Legendary weapons that DK cannot use though.

I'm a frost dk and I have never had a problem finding a raid spot

and as for dk dps I pull about 35k dps in dungeons and anywhere from 35-55k dps in raids depending on the fight and group makeup. so it is unlikely dps will be an issue with finding a raid spot

its sad that people are so obsessed with dps meters these days in a raid environment it is much more important to be able to follow call outs and learn mechanics than pull stupid high dps because you're just standing there nuking the boss
