Topic Enhancement / HC Madness question
Edited by Proteck on 8/6/12 12:31 PM (PDT)
Our guild has had heroic Madness on farm for a couple of weeks now and, after the initial kill, we have not really had any problems downing it... until last night. Last night, we took our enhancement shaman for the first time and were simply unable to kill the congealing bloods in phase 2 before they reached the boss. We had a survival hunter dropping frost traps and an assassination rogue spamming his fan of knives for the 70% slows.
A check of the logs, however, shows that the enhancement shaman really seemed to struggle with getting spellweave procs and his damage on the congealing bloods, as a result, was very low (bordering on bad, to say it nicely).

My question is, what can enhancement shamans do to maximize their dps and output on congealing bloods? What can enhancement shamans do to get the most spellweave procs? The shaman is a good friend of mine, one of my best in the guild (and I am the GM), and I want to get him his kill and achievement. However, if he is not performing during the most crucial part of the encounter, I have to replace him. What spells, abilities, rotations... can he do to maximize his damage on the congealing bloods?
Thank you for your time.
He just wasn't spreading his flame shock and getting off novas. You can do really well on the congealings as enhance is you do it right.
Since the bloods spawn at between 15-16%, between 10-11% and 5-6%, it is predictable when they are going to spawn. He needs to hold off on his lava lash if they are about to spawn, since it's crucial to doing good blood damage and it has a 10 second cooldown.
When they start to spawn he needs to run over, drop earthbind immediately, then flame shock one, spread the flame shock with lava lash, then just start hitting nova on cooldown. He will do plenty of spellweave and overall damage to the bloods without any issues at all. if he has a free global he can drop magma totem but it's not crucial. If he doesn't have lava lash up to spread the flame shock, it will cut his spellweave damage by nearly 80%, and he will just be worthless on them. It's up to him to manage it.
